Aww, Cinch.
I love this cute bundle of draft horse joy. He's one of the sweetest horses on the ranch, and while he's built as a draft he's not ridiculously hard for us short people to get up on. He was so kind to let me take this picture last Saturday, after I finished getting rodeo shots. I've been slowly but surely testing out my new camera, which is SO much nicer for detailed shots like this. So far the only thing I'm not so happy with is the way it captures motion, but I also haven't learned where or how to set the "sports" function, so I'm sure once I crack down and read the manual, I'll be better at it.

Unlike the rest of the herd, he was staying in the grain barn for the night due to some bad tummy issues, which are nearly resolved now. The sun was just starting to go down to our right, hence the yellow tint. I was standing maybe three feet away from him, and the big softie stopping his plodding and stood there so nicely while I took his picture. Most of the horses tend to turn the other way or keep walking towards you when they notice the camera, or if they're Guinness they make really nasty faces.
