I should have commented on this before.
At first, I thought it was a "Kabuki Cop" joke. After a while, though, I realized it was just strange. And wonderfully confusing. Like, did the cat paint his own face? He's wielding a grain flail so maybe that's something else he can do.
He should be able to fly, too. And have a sexy human girlfriend. His mortal enemy should be a one-eyed frog. There should not be any question about his being a cat interacting on par in human society. That's where I want to see this going.

Well you got one part almost right, one part half right and one part wrong (At least that's how I see this developing at the moment).
He will meet a sexy human female character and there will be some sort of relationship growing between them (but I don't think she'll like the term girlfriend a lot). You're half right about his mortal enemy, he's got one (well of a sort... it's a bit more complicated^^), but it's not a one-eyed frog (as good an idea as that is... I might be tempted to steal it). And you're probably wrong about his ability to fly, at least in his real life (oops, I may have dropped a hint here).
The question about who puts on his make-up is an interesting one. I haven't quite decided yet, although I'm favouring one solution from the following selection: (- It's actually a tattoo. - It's the (permanent) result of a curse. - He's putting it on himself. - A friend is putting it on for him.) But in the end it may just be "all of the above".
When I drew the picture I didn't know a lot about the character, but since then I've had quite a few ideas, and the background-story is getting fleshed out nicely. I will reveal some more info in the next Kabuki Kat deviation, most significantly some tantalising info about just where this character is living, and who his Nemesis is.

I just saw your "Noh-Ones" dev, this morning. That was better than my idea. I like how they're all copies of different sizes. Be careful about how closely they resemble No-Face, in the event you seek paid publication for it, however. I've heard some horror stories about Disney's reputation for vindictive pursuits in the realm of character/properties law.
The "Dr. Noh" pun is funny as hell.
I'm reminded of Hong Kong Fooey or those weird British cartoons I used to watch on Nickelodeon when I was little, where anthropomorphs and humans interact without any disguises or complications. I'm excited for a story, now.

Troma find ich klasse, schon aus Prinzip, auch wenn ich immer noch keinen einzigen Streifen gesehn habe (ist aber auch irgendwo auf meiner nahezu unendlich langen to-do Liste).
Lass dich ΓΌberaschen, mir sind inzwischen schon 5 weitere Charactere eingefallen, die mit Kabuki Kat interagieren werden^^.
(Deine Ideen sind auch gut, mal sehen wie sich das entwickeln wird, eventuell kΓΆnnen die auch mal nen Gastauftritt bekommen^^)

kabuki comes from kabukimono, which was a gang back in ancient japan who wore strange outfits and had crazy hair, very often acting as samurais but were really just a bunch of thugs. kabuki can also be translated into "the art of dancing and singing" tho... aaand it can also be interpreted to mean "bizarre theater"
a kabuki show is from what ive understood pretty much a over the top comedy, but that might just be how i see it because of the way they talk
so now you know alittle more about kabuki

I'd be willing to bet that this has been done before in some way, but I purposely didn't do any research about it (I didn't want to be influenced by any such ideas of other people).
Wise and focussed sounds good^^. And a bit bat-like at the moment (the ears need more work I think). I have got a few ideas for using the character by now, all a bit on the weird/obscure side
