Just a few hours until I meet with my GF for Valentines day... Checklist: Flowers, Candy, Card... card... still looking for a card as I look in all of the market shops and get nothing that fits. Trying the kiosks' now, Mahou's wares' huh... OK lets buzz through these and - wow! perfect! and a good price also. Complete and ready for a date with Aria now, just a change of wardrobe and its off to the park for the start.

Just being together, forget the day we're spending, its always magic. Opening the envelope and reading, I was so drawn to the last phrase, for it sums up the two of us so well. I trace the path of her eyes as they reach that best part "Love is complete and to cherish, of those who are sharing the same wish." Unspoken the bond of those waiting for the day, that transformation comes our way...

I place my fingers on the card, over her fingers and give her a smile. It feels lighter than air, and rising up in each others arms. I take a side glance and see a cloud, and we are above it. Wait a second!!! A further tilt down and shoes with nothing under. I try and remove my hand from the card, stuck! Suddenly the embrace becomes a bear-hug, yeah- she looked down.

After a bit of persuasion, my breathing can resume as the realization that we are not going to fall sets in. No, we are going the other way, and what should be utter joy and bliss is turning to fright as we see the Earth's curve and stars appearing at afternoon. Slowly learning that we are still breathing at this height, all we can do is submit to what comes. We are at the mercy of something, and the pace is quickening. In moments the Moon is passing us to our left and stars are starting to shift in placement. Ahead comes a blue glow and a red one behind us, remembering physics- it is the doppler effect and we are approaching the value of - c, the undramatic term of the speed of light! The blue and red surround us and go to brilliant white and the stars melt into a blur. we have just thrown away the physics book and gone metaphysical.

In what seems like moments, the effects reverse and we are slowing down, with no inertia obviously as we are still alive. A planet system looms ahead and we are braking into orbit and descending, admiring the system of moons and stars. We are clearly not on Earth anymore - let alone Kansas! Now we approach a small jut of land at the edge of a large ocean and there is an overlook, a park- not unlike the one we just left and hopefully with oxygen also! We set foot lightly to the ground and the gravity returns, but heavier. It is twilight here and we are alone but only for a moment as another couple also alights beside us in the same way. As they get their first breath, we introduce ourselves to them and for some reason, it leaves my lips as Shinkou and Aria, our dragon names. They reply and with a handshake as "ShadowBolt and Zorath" clearly they are Terrans as we. But why here, and why now?

A rustle of footsteps and a couple emerge from the nearby brush, Dragons! two of them! "We're sorry!" one of them begins, "We didn't see you" and they turned to leave. Interrupting them with the first question, where are we, and a knowing smile from both. "You are here as have some others over time, likely for the event in the sky" and they pointed to a star that was very pink in its light.

They explained that humans often were brought here for this and they left us to our privacy but the dragoness smiled and said "Don't fear, its safe here and it will be allright, in fact it will be transcending and transforming an experience!" We tried another question but they waved and bid us adieu. The star was increasing in brightness and now illuminating a nebula around it, casting our shadows on the ground. Brighter and brighter still almost painful to view. Great! bring us here for a Supernova, might as well park us under an H-bomb ! Nothing to fear my A........

But after many minutes, the star began to slow in brightness and the nebula, shaped as a heart fully illuminated. A feeling of wonder and expectation replaced apprehension. Zorath gasped as he saw his shadow and the shadow had horns and wings, tail, the lot...a dragon's shadow. "I saw this once before on earth in the middle of an eclipse" he said, noting that it was one of the reasons why he was considered as a shadow dragon. That explained him, but not the other three draconic shadows on the ground next to him!

I began rubbing my skin and there was a feeling like I was showering in hot water, big pattering droplets, and more sensations coming. I became weak in the knees and sat on the nearby sea wall, as scales began to appear on both arms. All of us were looking in shock as each of us took in that we were beginning a classical transformation. Fortunately not extremely painful and in fact very exhilarating. Aria and I became Eastern species Dragons and our travelling companions were Western, and all were an anthro variety, as were our earlier visitors, curiously. After what seemed like a half hour, we then greeted each other as brand new yet totally familiar.

I looked to the card which had been pocketed during the "ride" and it had changed also, The first side looked like a travel ticket and the destination was listed as Alpha Draconis Eight! I remembered a story involving this place on d/A from a Deviant known as Rex. The title was "Meteoric" and it looked like the world in his short tale sitting in front of us. I turned again to the ticket and there was a note of a return passage to earth in 4 hours. On the back cover was a single word and I recognized it from reruns of the old Mork and Mindy comedy show from the 70's and 80's, the word "Shazbot!" I mouthed it and in moments I was again Henry! The others gasped and I looked at the paper again repeating the word a second time not understanding what happened. As I did this, my form exploded into Shinkou again! Clearly a shape shifting spell, and needed for an Earth return, for all or any of us. We sat on the wall, thinking of what next. I looked at the return ticket and noticed fine print- Return trip not mandatory and can be re-booked for later times, retain this stub, www.mahou.com .

The others smiled as I read this.

"Lets go flying!" Said Zorath with ShadowBolt at his side waving us to join them. We could decide on the return trip date later...

Looks like I'm getting in just under the wire for the holiday again!

So - I wanted a group of four and wanted two to show the sibling affection side of this Valentines' day, arriving at Zorath and Shadowbolt as the best Brother/Sister. The choice for young love by a couple was harder and since Arakod and Shylah were just Naga 'ed on Sunday, that Left the pairs of Shinkou / Aria or Edge / Elsie. Almost a dice roll... I went with the first couple. Sorry Edge / Elsie, but you're needed in "Leg Up II" anyway. Practice your marksmanship.
