Remember Gargoyles?I hope you do. Anyway since it was a kids show they could never show any blood but all the characters were these 10 foot tall dragon monsters who were made of stone. They habitually did things like crush cars by accident and tear apart stone walls with their hands. How could they ever fight humans without shredding them into tiny pieces?
I don't know, is the answer to that question.
Also I was moved to show you all my artistic process for this particular piece, but I can't promise that it's not a little weird. lets just say it involves more crude cartoon people than most "process" images: [link]

I like little details sometimes; I love the foreshortening on the toe talons.
They showed blood... once. It might've been in the first episode (definitely in that first trilogy to start things off): it's when the Viking leader swings a sword and Goliath catches it in his hand. A trickle of blood goes down his forearm and the Viking rallies his men: the gargoyles are not invincible.
God I am a geek for remembering that.

you think thats bad? i got kicked out of my own room because i freaked my friends out when i could speak in time with the movie...without seeing the screen. (they turned the tv away from me and turned on subtitles an i said every word in perfect time for about 10 min before they kicked me out...)

I don't know why, but I love the claws on the feet. If they ever do a restart series or a movie, the gargoyles need to have talons rather than just pointy toes and fingers.

It would be cool someday if someone did a new gargoyles GN. The one that continued the series was okay, I guess, but then it just ended after a couple of volumes and that was it.

i was doing some reading and they have started releasing part 2 of season 2 i never thought id see the day. though Goliath cronicals dont seem to ever be forthcoming.

i know i was shocked that i quite nearly fell out of my chair. but on some sites ive found pre order sections for the box set.(its not like they have to make the episodes just sell them after all XD )
as for the Goliath chronicles is mostly about what happens after Avalon is settled and reuniting enemies as allies and new enemies taking stage. though most fans ive talked to are rather disappointed with the 3rd season I just cant find it in me not to love anything that has to do with Gargoyles.

Goliath chronicles was pretty poor. They had already solved all the major plots from the series in season two, but instead of having a new villain or something they just had pointless side stories and people being happy.
Nobody wants to watch a show that's just about people being happy!

Gargoyles is my all time fav Disney cartoon series. I have it complete and watch it many times through the year.
I love this picture of Goliath. Tremendous work breathing new life into an awesome character.

I think an interesting Gargoyle from the series to draw would be the one they named ColdStone, the part flesh, part cyborg one.
I wish I had the skill lvl to do such amazing creatures justice.
