Why do I need to have problems saying "island" when I need to say "Iland"
But I love your drawing and the amount of anatomy you put in them xd (an effort :Β΄3)

anser.
Why isn't that a word? It looks so weird xD But yeah, the English languageΒ is strange, but I guess that's how it is with every language?

>languages are damn weird
I feel you
I'm starting to learn German after English - and it's so hard to read things, omg. At least I'm not really confused with different forms of words because my native language has this Β too, but still .-.
And the thing with "new" sounds? Like, in Russian we don't have the sound that you write with "th", and English doesn't have umlauts, and everything-everything... And there's also syntax, and it's also different in some ways... Ohhhhhh. Thinking about it makes everything look even more complicated now x_x

I've come to stop questioning languages and how words are spelled, saved me a lot of headache in the long run lol

English is weird

Ohgod that also reminds me that the German city "KΓΆln" is spelled Cologne in English, like what??? that doesn't even sound the same why did they add extra syllables
It's such a weird concept that the names of places change depending on the language you learned them in
Like I went to Lisbon some years ago, and learned that locally it's called "lisboa" (and in German it's called Lissabon goddamn, we had to memorize all those european capitals and it didn't help jackshit because I still got confused when we landed in "Lisboa")
No seriously tho, what use does it get you to learn those capitals in your language, if that doesn't at all help you when you actually get there????

Tbh, I ask myself that a lot.
English is basically just a mish-mash of stolen languages

I agree too much xD

Stuff like this is like the main reason why I flub my pronounciation of stuff
and because I learned German before learning English, there's added difficulty,, I still regularly need to stop myself from saying "shool" when trying to say "school"
(Any 'sch' sound in German is pronounced like "schadenfreude" as an example )
