Both version are so cool, but this one makes it look like oneβs a reflection of the other.

Definitely an interesting composition. I like the twisting movement and pops of color!

Very cool stuff!
(It's could be like a playing card if you invert the symmetry of one of them)

I did try if the differntiating symmetry would work out, but it sadly didn't look nearly as good :c since this only came as an afterthought, I didn't even think to make the composition central, so that the bodies would line up. I could fake it maybe by cropping out major chunks of the picture, but this version simply looked cleaner
But thank you in any case!!

You're right don't crop! Often some of thing which could be "cool" don't work at all. Good stuff anyways ^^ as usual!

I'm watching the speedpaint as I type this - ahhh your stuff is just SO FREAKING COOL
How do you get the inspiration for these ideas? Is it all just from your mind, or have you watched some kind of video recently that may have influenced this?Β

Thank you!! The most important factor would be music,, it's like the source of what the "feel" of an idea starts out with and what it hopefully will also end up with!
The music that inspired this initial idea would be: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CZr3F⦠(after hearing that one song, I -HAD- to check out his other stuff, and boy I was not disappointed )
Drawing humanoid bodies is something I enjoy a looot, so that factor isn't that new,, the water surface-thing is also something I've used in a previous piece too Blissful Relief. and placing it upside down leads to adding cool stuff like air bubbles going up, and droplets dripping down. In my head I first had the lotuses growing the natural way, simply covering the water surface,, but immediately while drawing it, it just was no question that making them grow the "wrong" way would fit the composition/fill the image better (and add to the overall effect)
I also tried to add a bit of an eerieness, by making the flowers "clip" through the body,, and that I remembered from this piece: yt3.ggpht.com/-BdxfkxfTKmQ/AAA⦠from Roberto Ferri (he's still alive today, and makes beaautiful paintings, I totally recommend googling his stuff!!) His way of drawing human bodies in such dramatic poses is definitely something I try to emulate as well!
Other than that, the liquid being black and the teeth being the only thing visible were part of that initial mental image I got from the music :I
So yeah! It's all basically drawn from the visual library in my head, and combining previous ideas or concepts,, and then sometimes adding stuff as I experiment with different effects and find cool new stuff
((a perfect example of that happening would be Blight. where I was playing with some gradients and it looked like the arm was translucent and bone shone through-> which I then continued to the rest of the body and basically became the coolestpartβ’ oft the whole artwork!))
So don't be afraid to totally change directions during your process, or to maybe even go backwards and start afresh because you thought of something even better!
