I basically scanned the picture 4 different ways to make sure I had every area to work with on the computer.
From there (after rotating pics to have them upright) I used the opacity tool and lined up each layer on top of one another in their correct place which would create the picture as a whole (but yup there was definitely quite a bit of difference in colors + shadows)
To know if the pics lined up or not, that's where opacity plays its role. With one layer slightly faded i could the layer behind it to line them up until they were no longer a blurr.
I cut away as much shadow as possible with the selection tool and then used the stamp tool to blend the lines where you could visibly see the difference between the parts.
To say the least, not my favourite way of scanning haha!
