Wow this is beautiful, i really like this piece. I think youve done a fantastic job with this, the anatomy, colours and shading on this work really well together, and the way you have done her hair, wow. There isnt really anything to critique in this that I can find! Keep up the amazing work

Have to say, this is one of the nicest looking portraits I've seen on DA in quite some time The transition between the 'rougher' brushstrokes towards the bottom really helps your eyes move upwards and drawing you to the most outstanding feature in this...her eyes - so captivating and alive. And the hair...just the same. Often you see hair painted that looks like, well, a blob, but this is almost like you could reached out and touch the strands, tuck them away behind an ear.

There honestly isn't much I can think of that would improve this piece (of course, I'm useless at drawing humans, to it's not the easiest thing to critique) but two things that seem just a little less perfect then the rest; The first is the left (on the painting) corner of her mouth, I think it might be those two tiny 'shadow/fold' lines...but to me it makes it a little lopsided, just enough to make me look a second time wondering if I imagined it. The second is the brushstrokes below her jaw, in the shadow, that could be a little smoother as to contrast her throat and face a little more.

Overall...absolutely stunning.

I'll bare all this in mind when working on other portraits. Much appreciated!

this is awesome. The facial expression is just perfect, and you've got every detail down. I like how the bottom breaks down, and how theres a little shading around the figure. She is very pretty, haha! I especially like her eyes, they are very blue! Her hair in the back - the way it sorta branches off from the body, beautiful <3

I don't see a thing wrong with this. What type of paint did you use for this?

Awh, thank you so so much!
Oh, it's not a traditional painting, I did it on Photoshop

This is breathtaking, I am so captivated by her eyes. So gorgeous, it's like they can see through me. The arch of her eyebrows are seemingly perfect and the color of her lips is purely seductive.
In comparison to your ref, the shadows should be a bit darker and the highlights less contrasted.
I am astounded by the hair. Such gorgeous color and so very realistic, the multitude of browns and blondes you had to have used is mindboggling. I love that her hair is not some perfect mass, but it's bumpy and has ridges.
I love the style transition from portrait to background. I think it helps to frame her face and takes nothing away from the focus of the portrait.

I'm not good at people.. but I'll give you the best I can.

First off, I notice how many shades are in the hair. Since I'm a blonde, I can tell you that the colors there are really close to my real hair. There is always strokes of brown in it, and lighter blondes, besides the natural highlights and lowlights. What also has me is the eyes. They are very round and captivating. Most of the time, I have a issue with one eye being off, looking not quite at the person, but both eyes are directly on target here, and it really pulls you in as the viewer. I also really like you you painted the background. It's nice and loose, not distracting from the face. If I had to say something really nit-picky, I might have done the chest-to-background fade a little different. It ends rather quickly, but that might just be a style choice. It doesn't take away from the beautiful face at all.

Thanks very much! It was difficult to get the transition right, but I didn't want to mess with it too much and over complicate it

First off I would just like to say this is amazing! It almost looks like a photograph, and I could tell who it was immediately. I love the detail on the hair, it's very realistically done with how it flows, the 'little hairs', the highlights and lowlights. The only flaws I can find with this (and I'm a picky person so don't worry about them too much hehe) is the angle of the eyes, eyebrows, and nose, which is hard to get even as close as you have. The jawline also seems a bit fuzzy, but it's only barely noticeable. The lips are amazingly done, they seem moist. I like the barely perceptible smile, and her eyes look very real. The detail on the earring is very well done, it looks like real metal and gem. I really love how you went from smooth at the top to rough, unblended strokes at the bottom, it really adds artistic effect that somehow helps the piece come together! Again, very well done. I love it!

The jawline was a pain, as it's freehand, but you're right, a more definite line would have worked better. I reworked the nose umpteen times and I still couldn't get it perfect! Guess I just need to practice :L

I'm not good with realism, digital painting or humans but I can immediately tell that you have some amazing skills here. The hair has that nice flow-y effect, the earring has a real shine and the lips look moist. The skin seems perfect, and I love how you go from neat at the top to slightly messier at the bottom. It creates a nice effect.

A few things I noticed though was that the nose seems slightly too tilted. The eyes and eyebrows also seem to be mismatched in terms of placement and scaling which I know can be very tricky, especially when the head is tilted.

But it is still an amazing piece. I wish I had your skills

Oh wow, this this indeed an increddible painting! I am amazed! O.O
The details you added here are awesome: those little light dots on her lips, her earring, her hair (awesome!)
This painterly style, where you still can see the brush strokes works so great here!
The only tiny thing that could maybe be a bit different are her eyes: to me it seems like her right eye is a bit too big compared to her left one....or her left one a little to small for the right one
Keep up the amazing work!

Tehehe thank you so much!
The left one is definitely too small, it's very irritating. Just a case of practising proportions blurgh.

Yeah...proportins are evil :'D
Personally, I just can't drae right eyes...left ones are okay, but right ones are the horror for me ...^^

Beautifully done! The hair looks realistic in both the way it's colored and shaded and in the way it's drawn with some wisps hanging about here and there. My only problem with this piece is the eyes and how the lids are shaded. I'd suggest in the future blending the edges a bit better.
