And here we go! Another installment in the "Remnant" adventure! : DSo, what is the Synod, you might ask? Mentioned back on page 51, they are the major tribal chiefs of what is now the Helzig Empire. Together, they form a ruling body that takes commands from their Empress, Ursa, typically relayed through their principal elder, Freya. Freya is, of course, a chieftain herself, and extremely capable when out of touch with the true Helzig leader. She was personally chosen by Ursa to head the Synod and is trusted to act in her stead when the need arises.
This portion of the story won't last much longer. Then we'll move on the some other stuff. So, enjoy your Freya while you can! XD
And on a side note, thank you all for your heaps of support and just being super cool dudes all around. I was going through some stuff and the good thing is stuff usually doesn't last forever. ; ) So, let's get back into gear, eh?? : 3

Ow, I was so concentrated on Liviana, that I forgot on writing a comment for your latest Remnant page!
I was really happy to see that The Remnant continues. There's still a lot of the world to show, a lot of the story to tell, and a lot of twists to reveal. I felt this page as a glorious return of Tom and his Remant comic, However hurricane season stepped causing another disruption in the comic releases. So we can only hope there'll be another glorious return after Tom finds the roof of his house.
About the page - the bunch of the Helzig warriors looks very threatening. In their eyes is a look that you'd expect someone to give to his enemy when facing him face to face. It makes the atmosphere in the room a bit heavy and the reader is not sure if they are just grumpy as they always are, or if its a sign of some tension between the chief and the warriors, as a lot of those sharp looks are directed in the chief's dirrection. This kind of keeps the reader not knowing what to expect - whether they'll rush out soon and hurry to kill some Primeans, or start rather start a civil war among the Helzig themselves
The words of the Elder: "Only what she has always said. What we've known all along", sounds quite contemptuously. In the light of the uneasy dialogue between her and the Empress during the previous pages it may be a sign of an inner conflict between the Elder and the Empress, that may be becoming worse over time. It sounds a lot like the Elder has some doubts about Ursa. She maybe helped unite the clans in the past, but once the clans are united, is she really that "important"? That's maybe what the Elder is thinking. Her reply was like having a hidden message: "Whatever she says, it's unimportant." So I am definitely curious to see where this will lead in the future.
It's also another page where we're shown the variety of races and clans of the Helzig empire. There's one particular person that totally got my attention though. It's a girl in black with purple hair on the middle panel standing on the right. Just look at her face. She looks very differently from the other sharp, grumpy looking warriors around her. She's like from a different world. A very kind and sweet looking character.
It's like a flower blooming among the thorns. And this is an awesome contrast and a great idea to place somebody like that among the other representatives of different clans.

And Khoravan slips through the woods, saying, "Yeah, right! Like that'll ever happen!"

I dare say it's never a bad idea to recap! Some stuff can get stale i nthe old brain box, especially if there is a good amount of time between what was seen then and what was seen now!

Too many years ago I knew someone who was a fanatical Kate Bush fan. Going to his house for a party, it was impossible not to know this, as every square inch of wall space was taken up by a Kate Bush poster. Her winsome face was everywhere, following you with her eyes, as "Running Up That Hill" played on my friend's stereo. So I came up to him and congratulated him. "what a great collection of Judy Collins posters you have."
If looks could dismember, I'd be in a basket now.
(Note: I have no problems with either J. Collins or K. Bush: it just seemed funny at the time.)

Always a stoic girl of a few words, our freya. Her matter of factly attitude is what a charismatic leader needs to command a bunch of such violent ladies!
Except the first girl on the right in the top panel, she SO wants sempai freya to notice her! XD
Too bad this portion of the story is about to finish! I started to like freya a lot, but I'm very eager to see what my favourite green witch has been up to

Ahaha It was probably my fault for mistaking the facepaint around her eyes for blushing cheeks, luckily, dem hot abs of hers are enough to lower her moe levels to a reasonable degree XD

Hmn? It just occurred to me, looking at this anew. The 'near-Helzig' chieftain seems to be looking directly at the herald as opposed to Freya herself. Then, I noticed that the herald has a ponytail and side-hanging forelock as well! But they have NOTHING else in common!
But--wait! They do! They both have covered arms! They both have some sort of spiky stuff coming from their shoulders. They both have red marks on their faces.
The two of them are both from a far-ranging tribal nation? One large enough and far ranging enough for the culture to be multi-ethnic? But the two show how far the endpoints might be?

Freya is big and strong! But, she's not the only one. The chief of the jawbone and nose ring seems to have similar size and similar big, heavy coiffed hair. From the same tribe, perhaps? Freya's replacement as direct chief of her tribe? Perhaps a little, subtle animosity to be found there? Maybe some misplaced familiarity perhaps?
In any case, Freya is looked upon with great expectations, but while she could report good news, she does it as a messenger. Freya the reporter, and the Synod in danger of being--outdated and redundant?
There might well be only one Hexa, but she's not alone in being sort of slimy and crafty what with the pose of the chief to the bottom of the right row in the top panel.
Or mysterious, what with the 'ghost girl' and perhaps the--elf?--with the--insect?--on her hood?
The Near Helzig chieftain looks on with an expression of complex emotions. She's already missing her Primean buddies and the goodies they brought. Bonus gear like her hairspray for the perfect forelock and ponytail?

Very cool! I love this collection of Helzig baddies. It is nice to see an evil army run by genuinely bad-ass bosses! Each one looks like she could be a serious threat to our heroes.
Fantastic work, good to see the Remnant Comic continue.
