Shadow: -built by Gerald Robotnik, his ultimate goal was to become a protector of the ancients and their world. And nothing else.
-there is a mark on his arm “01” the success of the previous failed prototypes.
-can be rather distant due to his lack of social skills.
-has a love for nature and plant life thanks to Maria Robotnik.
-is sealed away in a pod for a thousand years until he’s woken up by Rouge.

Maria: -the granddaughter of Gerald Robotnik.
-was an observer of the shadow project.
-gave Shadow his name, because she saw light in him. “Where there’s Shadow, there’s light” - Maria.
-gives Shadow a friendship ring later into their friendship, and once she dies. Shadow still wears the ring thousand years into the future.
-Maria seals shadow away into the pod to protect him from Lyric’s grasp. And ends up dying to the snake in the process.

Tikal: -The diplomatic leader of the ancient echidna.
-looks after the chao sprites along with chaos.
-is an ancestor of knuckles.
-looks after one of the eight crystals of the world, the tidal crystal.
-by the fall of the ancients she seals the tidal crystal away deep within the ocean. That will eventually become the ocean purification plant.

Cream: -A minor character in the world.
-runs a chaos garden with her mother vanilla in bygone island.
-is young and polite; who wants to fight.

Silver: -part of a tribe in the snowy mountains.
-is a close friend of blaze the cat.
-doesn’t come from the future in the au.
-grew up with blaze and willing to help in any way he can.
-is a bit innocent and naive.

Blaze: -The leader of their tribe.
-due to her duty she was distanced from any of the kids her age. But meets silver one day and the two become pretty close. Like a brother-sister relationship.
-she trains daily to make sure her skills are sharp
-people ask why her hair is on fire almost all the time, blaze forgot the reason why.

Rouge: -a treasure hunter from parts unknown.
-finds shadow while on a sightseeing trip to the abandoned research facility.
-although she does form a small team with shadow and does get him to open up.
-she even opens up to him as well.
