yeah!! me and my friends actually even started playing d&d 'cause of critical role; ive been slowly making my way through watching campaign 1 for a couple years now lmao im so bad at watching things so im only halfway through but one day i'll make it to campaign 2 and get to see this beautiful purple boy,,

thank you!! im actually in quite a few different campaigns, but these are my three main characters:
idalia, centaur cleric, lawful good. she's like...... really dumb. like really, really dumb. but she's got the Biggest heart and is really good at her job which is keeping people alive!! she's really dedicated to her deity, apollo, and while she's currently on the run as an exiled princess one day she's gotta return to her herd and overthrow her uncle and his evil witch companion
santino, wood elf warlock, chaotic neutral. he is also...... really dumb. like really, really dumb. he's not as nice either but he's not superly a jerk; he just likes to get into trouble and mess around and doesnt really think about consequences. this is really evidenced by the fact that he made a deal with high fantasy satan (asmodeus) to get magical abilities so that he could keep up with his best friend who he's also really gay for lmao. one day tho he's gonna break out of his contract with asmodeus and it's gonna be a really fun time
remus, werewolf tiefling, bard rogue, true neutral. theyre supposed to be really quiet and untrusting/reserved but im a big dumb idiot with a big dumb heart and that's definitely translated into their character lmao; theyre a very trusting person who starts caring about people really quickly but due to Dramatic Backstory™ they try to stuff that part of themself down and come off as aloof. i'm really looking forward to the stuff i have planned for them; in their backstory, they made a mistake that cost their girlfriend her life, and later theyre gonna find out that their current boyfriend is actually her brother... and that she's still alive and is coming back with a vengeance. they also got turned into a werewolf rather recently, and so it's been really fun having them go through the process of understanding it and trying to come to terms with it

agshjdjf ive got very rough outlines for a firbolg sorcerer (he doesn’t have a name yet so he’s just tol for now jdjdjfj) and a half elf rogue named Serendipity but that’s about it, u had much more flushed out rip

yeee, unfortunately i think youre limited in how many character sheets you can make before you have to make purchases? but idk
oooh i love those concepts!! and dont worry; ive had all those characters since like 2016 so theyve had 2+ years of development under their belts |D
hmm unfortunately i dont know any backstory generators, however you might wanna look into the backgrounds listed in the phb for inspiration!! also just in general when coming up with backstories, i like to focus on like interesting concepts or reasons why for things. like with my centaur, idalia, when reading up on d&d centaurs i found out that there were two sub-species of centaurs, one that was more peaceful and one that was more war-like. i thought that was an interesting concept and ended up developing some clashes between these two sub-species in her backstory! or like for my rogue bard remus, i needed a reason for why they steal from people, especially since theyre so kind-hearted, and ended up having them run away from home at a young age and needing to steal in order to survive.
so just ask yourself a lot of questions and follow what looks interesting! like for your firbolg, the wiki page says that firbolgs are a very reclusive species, so why did your firbolg start interacting with other species? what does their family/hometown think of this; do they approve or is your firbolg an outcast? or for your half-elf, what was their home life like? did they receive a good balance of human and elf influence growing up, or do they struggle with their identity? why did they start to steal; was it in order to survive? for the fun of it? did they get mixed in with the wrong crowd of people? what happened after they became a rogue; did they ever get arrested? etc etc!
