Description
On Thursday, Remy's class was assigned to do book reports. There was still a lot of work to be done before summer started.

Remy selected a book from the school library to bring home with him.

On Saturday, he decided to read outside. There was a small park just a few blocks from his house. It was a good place to get some peace and quiet.

At the park, Remy sat down on a bench right by the basketball court. There was a group of kids playing in the north court.

The group was a little noisy, but Remy didn't mind. As long as there was no music he was okay with it. His report was due in two weeks, and he wanted to get it done as soon as possible.

Remy was eventually lost in his book, and the racket was no more than background noise. He suddenly felt something bump into his leg. He looked down and saw a basketball right at his feet. He looked up and saw one of the players, a fox slightly younger than him, waving an arm at him.

"Over here!" he called. "Throw it over here! Didn't you hear me?"

Remy picked up the ball and walked towards the group. He tossed the ball to the young fox.

"Thanks a lot," he smiled. "Are you from around here?"

Remy nodded. "Not far." he said.

"Nice," said the fox. "Come here often?"

Remy shook his head. "Not really."

"So what's your name?"

Remy introduced himself.

"I'm Tommy," said the fox, shaking Remy's hand. "Tommy Fox."

Remy smiled. "My last name is Fox!"

"No kidding! I wonder if we're related."

The other players stood right behind Tommy. There was a yellow cat with large thick-framed glasses and a mouthful of braces. Behind him stood a light-furred vixen with short brown hair and blue eyes. Two younger boys followed behind her. One was a much younger fox and the other was a yellow dog. And at the very end was a large heavy-set beaver with broad shoulders and large brown eyes.

"Guys," Tommy smiled, "This is Remy."

After everyone said hello to Remy, Tommy introduced everyone to him. The spectacled cat was named Harry, the young vixen was Debbie, the little dog was Harry's little brother Jeff (Harry was adopted by a family of dogs), and the large beaver was Bob.

"And this," Tommy pointed to the little fox, "is my brother, Rudy."

Rudy fidgeted. "Can we get back to the game now, Tommy? Can we? Can we?"

"Hang on a sec, will ya?" he whispered annoyed.

Tommy turned back to Remy. "So, you want to play with us?"

Remy hesitated, but then smiled. "Okay, maybe for a little bit."

"Alright! Come on."

Remy put his book down and proceeded to join in the game.

However, that little bit of time slowly turned into the late afternoon. When Remy grew tired, he asked for the time. He was shocked. It was quarter after five!

He had been playing with the group for over four hours. His parents were going to kill him.

Remy thanked tommy and his friends for the game. He picked up his book and ran all the way back to his house.
