I like both. I think Yamamuro and Shintani's art styles are both beautiful and I am fine with whichever style we get.

The movie fight scenes will be CGI....so people who are pining for old DB low end style will be disappointed.

God, I'm so glad Shintani is taking over.
I appreciate your effort for the comparison, but Yamamuro's present day style looks so stiff and plastic, I can't stand it.
This is a great sample to judge them by! very close to their styles

A more detailed but time-costly style versus a simple looking and time-efficient style. I like em both.

Yeah, I'm not too big a fan of this new artist's style for the characters, but I'm apparently the odd on on this opinion.

Agree. People today pine for the old DB style episodes and loved the "every other ep" quality or C-Level artists that Toei employed during DBZ-GT. They say the art is too time consuming -tell that to other anime's that do it and have amazing detailed fights. Also, tell that to Toei when they animated the good quality episodes or SSJ3 Goku Episodes.

Well... did you ever see his original style from the 90’s Dragon Ball Z? Particularly the Buu Arc, Broly Movie and such? A lot of fans agree it was better, not to say there aren’t fans who love the current designs, but if you want to know what I’m taking about... see this Link.

I've seen his original work, more or less. I like his style period. But I don't hate the current Yamamuro style is the point I'm trying to get across. I just wish he could capture both detail and fluidity in a single motion, but it seems one must be sacrificed for the other. I would watch the video, but I'm not 100% interested in the subject. I just genuinely wish we didn't have to switch to Shintani.

There were people hesitant on Shintani’s Designs, but I love them, I do admit it is strange to suddenly change from Yamamuro’s current style for this film, Shintani’s is so loose that animating is much easier, also the amounts of shading isn’t as much as Yamamuro’s was, so they save money while making a more fluid looking movie, to be honest I wouldn’t mind this new art style if this is how much better the series gets in terms of animation.

Why is that? (A genuine question, not throwing shade). I've seen countless people rag on Yamamuro's current style but I've seen heard anyone praise it. I'd really like to hear your take.

I honestly don't have anything deep, to be honest, It's grown on me in recent years; as far as I concerned, Yamamuro's style is synonymous with current Dragon Ball. You can't look anywhere without seeing it on some sort of promotional material, it's the main art style I think the anime has used since Broly's first film, and it was the closest, I think, to matching Toriyama's style at the end of the series. While Toriyama's style has certainly evolved since then, I don't thinking switching to Shintani's style was an upgrade. Everything looks a bit regressed now. Gokū looks way too young now, outright resembling the Namek arc Gokū. While Saiyans definitely stay in their prime longer, Gokū has visibly aged since then.
I get that Yamamuro's style had its issues, and Shintani's flows better, but I guess I prefer detail to fluidity.
