Description Before I got started on the bodies, I decided I'd go over the Aquatic parts and give some creative alternatives to them. This isn't to say they will be used but I feel these work better for Jiragon's Aquatic Mode than his earlier appendages when it comes to water movement and such.

1. Head
You know that sensory head I had back in the head study? Well I revamped the shit out of it. Got the proportions right this time too. The horns were given the barbed harpoon treatment that the one of the earlier head models had as it fits the water motif rather well. Also makes for an effective weapon. The dental got an overhaul in this form as its made for locking on and tearing rather than slicing. Effective for reptilian water combat. The whiskers make a return but are more tackful in how they are presented. We got the four chin whiskers as per usual, the main cat fish whiskers off the snout, and the spines down the back have become feelers as well with some more dangling off the cheeks. Good range of detection there without it making it look like he has parasitical worms crawling out of him. I enlarged the neck as it was looking rather whimpy and the dewlap is the only spined fin you'll see here. The throat scales have become carp like. I felt this completed his aquatic transition. The face plate is segmented in a fashion thats curvy and his iris is a tad out of focus since the membrane is in place here. The plates are also smoother so throughout the desigh the veins aren't quite so dominate but still visible beneath the surface. The Gills are also more open for water access.

2. Arm
I decided a flipper would work best for Jiragon here. A very large flipper that still has a resemblance to his usual claw setup. Its very terrapin like that flipper. Allows for graceful water movement and shoveling strides on land. Much like the Archerlon.

3. Leg
Total departure from the Titanosaurus Neo looking thing with the fins jutting all over the place for no reason. Its a practical fushion of croc and monitor lizard with Jiragon's usual patterns.

4. Tail
Perhaps the most important one here. I figured out a way to combine 'super fin' with 'croc tail'. Make it an armored tadpole tail lol. The armor spurs are croc and the underside connects back with the neck pattern (belly will still have the red pebbles like usual). The fin is now divided by being ontop and on the bottom of the entire tail. This creates a vaguely eel like vibe. So it can make powerful strikes and fluid water movement without being overly cliche or Mermaidish.

The body will remain under wraps for now but I have plans for it that may rock your socks. You'll see it, along with the others, in the next study.

Much more creative than the previous ones, I'm glad Gareku liked them so I can use them later.

Now THIS is an aquatic super-dino.
It definitely feels like Jiragon, but also like a prehistoric, aquatic reptile. The newt tail is original and gives it a strange sense. It strikes me as more of a lake monster than a sea monster, what with the catfish and newt elements. I think that's rather distinct.

I love how the dunkleosteus armor incorporates into the head. It makes the whiskers feel more in place, somehow. I'd personally have preferred the dunkleosteus-style crunching ridge thingies over actual teeth, butmeh.

One artistic issue. Was a straight mouth part of the description? Because most reptiles, theropod or otherwise, have more of a curve or zigzag to their mouths. This one looks kinda.... blank. No real expression. Besides, I tend to think a more zigzag-shaped mouth creates a more powerful image.

I acutally never thought about it. Generally I was focusing on just making sure he looked like Jiragon still but your right, the mouth could use some more developement. The dunkleosteus ridge jaws sounded very cool, I just couldn't figure out for the life of me how'd I'd get them to work with him. Though browsing through some pictures of the thing I'm starting to get ideas lol.

I'm thinking of adding more dunkleosteus jaws to him a little later in the full body drawing for Aquatic Mode if thats alright with you.

In the meantime, glad to hear you like these alternatives. I think they make him a more original beastie overall.
