Finished this small set of Marez sketches very early this morning. Mostly action exploration. First one is a 'landing' pose like from a jump. The second is a straight up in the air leap, to get how the limbs tuck in. The last one is a 'shake' which is a solid canine action. Though instead of water in this case Marez is shaking off splatters of blood because that's his schtick. Also experimenting with the shoulder markings radiating out from the shoulder horns rather than down below it.-RenDragonClaw

Canine heads continue to annoy me. It's that weird fraction of difference in their brow to snout height and the actual shape there of that keeps changing on me. The body type IS getting easier as I remember how long certain body parts are and how their shoulders work. I look back at the earliest wolves and dogs I drew and go 'Jesus those hocks are long'. I also roughly sloved my problem with proper animal anatomy and kaiju muscle definition for canines at least for the back quarters. Short, but round and fluffy 
Horses meanwhile, are still knackered pain in the leg department. Because, a horse with super thick forelegs just doesn't look right unless it's built like an hourglass and got Spawn style gore stompers. I've debated making, as part of a series of kaiju involving North Mythology, a kaijufication of Sliepnir and crossing horse with spider to solve the 'everything in eight' thing going on there. At least in that case sharp digits wouldn't look so out of place lol.

The fox pose for the second one is just WIN. For one, Marez looks cute as opposed to blood thirsty and war mongering.

You think a snarly leap in the air is cute? Oy vey. Though he's not always battle crazy all the time so some more neutral moments are needed.

Are those cuts all over his body or markings? Or are they markings that just bleed continuous amounts of blood?

technically they are wounds that became markings and are access points for blood to flow for his abilities so...all of the above?
