Description Hey, did anyone watch the Dungeons & Dragons animated series in the mid 1980s? No, probably not.

Well, I was at a New Year's party and we were all watching DVDs of it (because those are the kinds of parties I go to) and I got to thinking it might be fun to redesign the characters. I mostly wanted to do this as a portfolio piece, seeing as I've been trying to get a job and all that.

I used a new method of coloring, one that works really well for people who aren't very strong in color theory (specifically, me). It's a really easy and efficient way to color in Photoshop, and the tutorial can be found here:

From left to right:
Eric the Cavalier (now a fighter)
Hank the Ranger (still a ranger)
Presto the Magician (now a wizard, complete with spell book and spiffy staff. I let him keep his silly hat though)
Sheila the Thief (now a rogue)
Bobby the Barbarian (barbarians are a class unchanged by time)
Uni the Unicorn (no class levels!)
Diana the Acrobat (now a monk)

Bic #2 mechanical pencil, regular old printer paper, Micron pens, Photoshop, and a Wacom tablet.

So...take it easy everybody! ^_^

You have done some great justice; A cavalier/fighter without a sword is a joke, a bookworm wizard without a spellbook isn't a bookworm wizard at all, and a thief could at least use some sort of weapon, let alone a dagger.

Are those spikes on the end of Bobby's club?!
Yikes!
The little Barbarian isn't getting any nicer.
Great Work!!!

Yeah! Since I was trying to modernize the group a little, I gave everyone a weapon. I always thought it was weird that they were mostly unarmed back in the day. But since Bobby was the only one from the original show who had a legitimate weapon to start with, I was kind of at a loss of what to do. It's funny that the little kid always had the most badass design, so I just made him more badass.

So anyway, thanks dude! And welcome to DeviantArt. ^_^

I've never seen the show, but your redesigns look nice. I think your acrobat gone monk is my favorite.

The show was kind of terrible. A little better than most '80s cartoons though. I only draw fan art of unpopular/unknown things. It is my way.

These days, Tenchi is considered "old" and only "old" people like us have even seen it. ^_^
