That's sadly true
I often can't decide which I prefer - the old or the new ones.
The old ones are more entertaining than the new ones and they have some certain spirit... I don't know^^ It's like with films (with real persons). Today everything is possible with computer animation and so on but does that make the films better? It's the same with animes^^ They have awesome animation nowadays but lack that "essence" ... somehow 
The drawing style changed a lot as well

Well, the OAVs are very *special* xD
It looks more like Seinen Anime, with bloody fights and more realistic drawings, so some characters look a bit odd xD
One OAV is about Kenshins whole past, like it was told in the Manga and the other is some kind of ending, a sequel. I don't like that one very much... I think it's too dramatic and sad
And the film... well I just watched it^^ Not that good but it's not bad either. But I expected more :/ The story is ok but the fights are boring
