Oh yes, OH YES. The internet does it WORSE. You don't even want to KNOW what data google has on you.Β Pretty much every website you go to (Including this one) uses google-analytics.com to spy on you. If I had the money I could get sent data on everything you do on DA.

Oh heck yes! They're just not allowed to *track* you; they can keep records of your IP address and learn things like 'So [unamed-user-4469] has logged in the eighth time this week, each time around 8pm. They also do something called 'click mapping' where they keep track of where you click on a page. (You can see an advert for a less shady, legal product here: helpx.adobe.com/analytics/usin⦠which allows volunteers to show a company where clicks are.)
