Yeeess...Anakin and Padmé, because I love them!
I usually have no interests for couples and such, but with those two is different!!
Maybe because I kinda like the fact that Ani screwed everything up...I don't like it in a sadistic way of course!! XD ...
-Star Wars Rant Ahead-
...it's a matter of storytelling, ya know...usually the main characters do always everything right, and they're awesome and everything..Ani, instead, couldn't see what he had...and he loses everything eventually...he was really his fault, which makes him an extremely "human" character, ya know what I mean?
Well, even though, let's admit it...if the Jedi trusted him more, maybe he wouldn't turn to Palpatine so easily T_T
At least that's what I think, I mean, even if Palpatine was lying all the time, at least he pretended to trust Ani...and since nobody else did (except for Padmé...I don't really count Obi-Wan since he's like the perfect Jedi and when he has to let go someone, hell yeah HE DOES) his confusion was understandable...
Anyway Padmé was really the one that trusted him 'til the very end...even after their meeting in Mustafar...while everyone else thought he was lost forever...
and the thing is, there was no useless drama (like you see in things like Twilight...), there was just sadness...because man, Padmé truly loved him
OH GOD I JUST DID A SUPER BORING STAR WARS RANT NOBODY WILL READ. SORRY ABOUT THAT.
But if you like SW I would love to talk about it! Especially Episode III!
I really, really, really love Anakin's character. I do. (I still hate the fact that he killed all those people when he went Dark Side of course).

He had a great thing going (minus him eventually getting found out by the Jedi Council of his martial status), but he let it go so badly. And the huge irony in the whole "being able to save the one you love from dying" turned out to be a Jedi trick, not one of the Sith's. Seriously, he should've stuck to impaling the Emperor and not Mace Windu

Awesome, I am glad I found another fan of Anakin and Padme as couple. I will admit that like you I like Anakin a lot more than Obi-Wan, while I do like Obi-Wan I found that they tried to make him a little too perfect. Anakin was interesting to because he did make mistakes.

Not sure if I already commented... But this piece (ad your defense of Anakin's character) brings up memories. Especially of my time role-playing as Anakin.
By the way, what are your thoughts on Anakin as Emperor? (in this RP, he killed Palpatine just after Order 66, and install himself as Emperor; Mustafar never happened, so Padme's still alive and is Empress.) I'm ver curious.

I like ani also, l like imperfect characters, there so real and i feel closer to them. People who hate characters like this need to get out of the anime world for a bit and think about it. Yeah, i said it, i love anime but the characters they create are sometimes so black and white, guy is awesome, has lots of friends, gets the girl, never makes mistakes, always makes the right decision etc

That's one of the reasons why recently I have had hard time reading manga/watching anime (but even most movies, actually!). There are so many cliches... ;_; the only one left that I really like is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.

*read your rant* I agree, there was a lot of sadness. But Yoda told the council from the beginning that he was not to be trusted and it became sort of a self-fulfilled prophecy....

I would call that some kind of paradox :/ they started with the idea of not trusting him, in fact they didn't, and that was one of the main reasons why he turned Dark Side, basically...
