This is one of those pictures where I didn't feel done with it, exactly. I just kind of gave up working on it.

Despite your giving up it started coming out really nice. I think the only thing that throws me off is that fire, it looks really out of place stylized like that. But you did say you gave up after a while, so understandable.
I really like the sigils on his robes.

Yeah, I almost like the flats more- I think the colors got a little muddled and the lightning wasn't as clear as I wanted. I probably should have adjust the flame a bit more- I am my own worst critic.
After like the fourth time re-doing the light and the fire I really did just give up, lol. e_e;;
I should probably make some sort of actual little alphabet or something, I draw those little fake runes on stuff and they're just meaningless. His hood was just bland without something to draw the eye. :3

Every artist is their own worst critic, haha. But I can understand not feeling a piece and sort of letting it go, at least you learned for next time.
Yeah runes are the best thing to add to bland robes! Coming up with a rune alphabet could be cool, would definitely help with some consistency.
