Description
"In Collies, other than movement, the head is one of the most important features. I mean, in my opinion she's got a very nice head. Great stop, definitely closest out of all our collies so far. Beautiful natural ears, her eyes could probably be smaller but I don't know they seem to add to her expression which is alert and very sweet; round full muzzle. She's a pretty pup I tell you what."
Now, traveling with dogs isn't exactly easy but it can be a lot of fun. In many ways they're like kids; can't exactly hold their pee and there is always risk of car sickness. We use an old trick though to keep their stomachs quiet: Ginger Snaps. Yep, we had a lot of ginger snaps during this trip much to our delight!
Making stops though was pretty fun. Most people can identify a Collie easily enough but not a lot of people have seen one up close so there were plenty of curious onlookers and friendly hands reaching our way. Chris and Hila are good with people thanks in part to socialization as puppies but also Collies are naturally pretty friendly. Hila of course would rather people come to her though.
Barking was our biggest issue, she's a huge barker. It's a long way between New York and Cali, and everything interesting we passed - there were a lot of interesting things - earned a questioning bark. She was a good guard dog at the hotel at least. We never worried about being surprised by anyone because if anything went by the room Hila let us know. Fortunately the place we stayed had good enough walls where you couldn't really here her unless you were right outside the door (something we were grateful for too because one of our neighbors had parties going on we think).
All in all it was a good trip!
