Prosciutto is from vento aureo! i just read his chapter around last week too~ and also how Araki can make like 99.9% of his characters likeable sjdhjshkfd

Nah, they aren't brothers but they're connected. Since Dio has Jonathan's body the Joestars also received stands when Dio got his. 
The world and Star Platinum are just really similar, I guess.
