This week's Zoolychallenge is a Javelina or Peccary. I really had to work on this one! Got out the skull I have, to sort out the face shape ( weird!). I found a little bit of anatomy info about them ( the pictures of life-sized forms they have for sale in taxidermy catalogs are useful! ) but perfect peccary proportions are still eluding me: the legs might be a bit too long, and the hind leg is a bit over-anatomy'd. The pics I have seen don't show that much definition of the muscles.
Peccaries are my favorite animal of the day. Mostly real media, pencil and pen and ink, with a little photoshop shading.

Oh I love These! The javelinas come in my backyard all the time! They are beautiful animals I dont know why people hate them! They are the cutest in the sonoran desert!
I live in Tucson Az and I see them everywhere.
