The Aluminium Dragon is physically the weakest of the metallic dragons but none can approach it's speed and agility.

Wow, this is really good! I don't know how you managed to make this with tinfoil, but I am extremely impressed. It looks very lifelike, and the fact that it's silver only improves the effect. Nice work! I hope your 'real' sculpture came out equally well, or even better.

Wow, that is cool. I've never seen aluminum foil use as an art medium before, thought I'd imagine it must be easy to work with because it's so malleable. But it is pretty light, so did you use an armature of some type? And what is the scale of this?
π: 0 β©: 1
Reptangle In reply to Everch [2012-02-29 19:38:18 +0000 UTC]
Yes, it is very light and squishible.
No, I don't use an armature, but I do stick the loose flaps down with hot glue. That makes the whole thing much stronger,AND I learned that if I dunk the whole thing in an acrylic clear finish, they become much studier. Clear plastic finish also adds a little weight to them, so they don't feel so fragile..
These are about 5 inches tall.

No, This design for a dragon is tooo fancy for a real sculpture!
I would use an aluminum foil dragon such as this one, but position it in a way that I can really sculpt and cast it in our material. It needs to more of a blob shape.
