Description Finally got this posted! YAY! The very first piece of my "Dr. Nainso and Mr. Zisk" series; my Jekyll and Hyde/Dreamkeepers art crossover that was inspired by none other than InkPotts . This pair of two absolutely incredible animators over on YouTube have their own musical crossovers featuring characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, their AU of "The Count of Monte Rainbow" is awesome! Go check it out if you're interested! Their animatics are actually inspired me to watch MLP: FIM in the first place, now you know who to blame! XD

Now, onto describing this piece! This is a follow-up piece that's been clawing at the back of my mind ever since I first posted this in the 's annual DreamKeepers Halloween fan-art contest two years ago, <reptilian-angel.deviantart.com… , it didn't place unfortunately, but I wasn't deterred in the least! Okay, a little, but nevermind that. This scene features Lucy Vi, played by the incomparable Viriathius, performing her first number in the David Hasselhoff version of the play "Good N' Evil" (Performed live by Coleen Sexton), as Dr. Henry Nainso and his lawyer/friend, John Igrath watch in awe. Personally, rather then "Bring on the Men" in the Anthony Warlow version, "Good N' Evil", I think better fits the theme of the play as it was supposed to inspire Henry's answer to finishing his experiment. He tells her this later on and before leaving, gives her a card with his address so she can see him for whenever she needs a friend, that and nothing more. Lucy is obviously a little surprised by his offer but she takes it, regardless, unknowingly beginning to take part in a tragic interaction . . .

Okay,Β  this was my first time actually DRAWING Vi at all, since honestly, she's not really one of my TOP favorite DK characters; but I do admire how much of a fan base she has in the fandom, (Seriously, she is everywhere!) and how Dave and Liz designed her so beautifully so that she's tough as hell and hot to trot at the same time. My biggest hurdle I have to say, was trying to give her decent lighting, since in the live version a spotlight shines down on Lucy in the beginning of her number. At first I just highlighted her with yellow colored pencils as much as I could without over-powering her color all together, then for the background, I just mixed a few dark colors until I hinted it with as much light as I could. The once I had scanned it on to my computer, I tried to blend it together with Paint but I'm a little worried that I added to much on top and not enough on the bottom, but I am an amateur so, if it sucks I only have myself to blame. That aside, I kept the rest pretty simple and I think that it turned out pretty good, but again that's just me.

Okay, enough rambling, I own nothing, please comment!

Ahhhh, so cool! The style of their faces seem spot on to me!

Better put "Good N' Evil" on my list of shows to see, up with Hamilton and Chicago.

Actually, Good N' Evil is the name of one of the songs from the musical "Jekyll and Hyde", for some reason or another though it's kind of juggled in between different productions because, as I said, in some versions it's replaced with Bring on the Men.

Oh it’s just a song. Whoops. How is it used in multiple productions?

What I mean is that it's used in some productions and in others, it's replaced with "Bring on the Men".

Ohhhh, at first I thought by other productions you meant in different musicals XD.

Oh, sorry for the confusion, different productions are more often than not the same play just actually brought to stage by different people.

Really love your lighting on Vi - it looks like a lot of time was spent on that, and it came out smashing!Β  Her expression is also dead-on.Β  Quite interested to see that this is the 'first piece' of a series.

Omigosh, thank you so much for commenting! And thank you so much for the compliment; this was literally the FIRST time I ever added lighting to a picture and I was terrified that it looked awful.

As to this being the first piece of a series, I wasn't originally planning on it but once I watched Coleen Sexton singing Good N' Evil and suddenly thought of Vi as Lucy, I couldn't stop myself from drawing it!

The description mentions InkPotts, an animator who makes animatics of crossovers between Mlp and classic stories like Jekyll and Hyde and The Count of Monte Cristo.
