Stories of a ghost wandering the halls of a rural castle didn't initially catch the attention of Nancy Drew, she was merely here as a tourist and guest. When she awoke one night to find the specter wandering the halls, however, then she took notice! Realizing there was more going on than simple ghost stories, the brave detective began to hunt down the haunt. Her search eventually took her to the gatekeeper's stone cottage, where she found the clues incriminating a rival landlord who was trying to drive away the tourists so he could buy the castle cheap!

That landlord, however, found Nancy where she shouldn't have been and quickly tied up and silenced the snoop! "You'll never tell anyone of what you found before its too late, Miss Drew, if ever! In fact, I should thank you for adding yourself to the legend of the castle hauntings, the girl who simply vanished into thin air!"
