I hope you guys had a great Mother's Day!!

Before the holiday, I was commissioned by Zketcherz , who asked for a couple sketch of Ria and Emery.

I had tons of fun with this one! Perhaps the main reason for that is because I kinda struggled in the beginning to get the style right. Although I have already drawn a few Sonic characters, I never really got to a style I truly enjoy (except for the one I used on Shadow. I liked that one). For that reason, before going to the final sketch, I did a bunch of quick ones to get the characters and the style right. At this moment, I had the opportunity of putting in practice some things I learned on Aaron Blaise's Character Design course, which has been absolutely great for me!

Zketcherz gave me freedom to draw whatever background I wanted (which was awesome of her )! Every time someone commission me to draw one of their characters, I always feel like learning about these characters. What's their personality like? What's their attitude? What do they like and dislike? What's the story behind this character? And so on...

Both of these characters were linked to Russia somehow. I think Emery is russian himself and Ria ran away there with her little sister after dealing with some shit with the Council of her homeland (China), where she was a princess.

I got the feeling that they both ended up in Russia to get away from their problems, so I thought that the best place for them to be hanging out as a couple would be... well, Russia

And in the end, that's what we got! Ria and Emery hanging out peacefully on Red Square after all the shit they've been through.

They deserve it
