Wanted to make my own thing on my own headcanon regarding Applejack's parents. I don't have names for them yet.
My headcanon says that both of them died in some sort of tragic accident a little bit before Applejack left to seek out her Aunt Orange. And perhaps her parents' deaths had something to do with why Applejack wanted to leave in the first place. The dad is Granny Smith's son and the mom is Aunt Orange's younger sister. The mom was born in Manehattan, but longed for a simpler and more honest way of life than the sort she grew up in. Her special tallent was careing for trees, so she opted for a job out in Ponyville as a ranch hand. That's how she met her husband, and quickly fell in love with his soft spoken, hard working nature.
Still haven't quite figured out the exact circumstances of their deaths. .....Maybe a fire? ...I'm not entirely sure, but whatever it is, it's way too dark to ever be something that would actually happen on the show. XD;

Their names are Jersey Mac and Golden Gala now.

this is very cool and the colours make total sense also the idea of them dying in a fire is totally beleivable. but I do think that Apple Bloom's mother would be a lot tougher looking, but otherwise I do love that backstory.

In my fanon, they died when the train between Appleoosa and Ponyville derailed and subsequently caught fire.
A recently-born Apple Bloom was the sole survivor.

They look really good and I like their story, but "died in tragic accident a little bit before Applejack left to seek out her Aunt Orange", where did Applebloom come from then? oO We didn't see her in that flashback.

Easy. She had just barely been born then. She couldn't see Applejack off because she was a baby and had to take her nap.

Maybe they were crushed by falling apple trees in a storm while trying to get their kids to safety.

Gala Apple could work, but... I dunno. It doesn't feel right to name a pony something with the word "Hand" in it. And "Ranch Hoof" doesn't feel the same. XD
