History ▪
-Geneviève or "Gin" came from a very small and close knit coven only made up of her family, a full witch family, and a witch dryad hybrid family
-Gin's family being her, her mother, father, and older sister who were known for their powers of prophecy and divination
-this allowed the coven to move and hide without being caught
-Gin was far younger then any of the coven children all of them being early to mid teens when she was born, and for that she was kinda the token baby of the coven

-for some part of Gin's early life her parents thought she may have had an inability to use magic, she not being able to express it in any way
-as well as her having some bad form of social anxiety in where she couldn't stand being in any type of crowded situation
-but after some time her parents figured out that the "social anxiety" was due to her magic as she has the ability to sense the emotions of other people and in crowded settings this ability would overwhelm her
-and as well that she could use different types of divination magic, but needed some tool to express it through

-for this part of her life Gin's coven was just one large and happy family, but all good things had to come to an end

-when Gin was around twelve years old a pack of hunters finally planned 70 steps ahead of the coven's movements and was able to ambush them
-during the ensuing chaos of the attack the coven was scattered and members picked off through that night of hell
-when the hunters caught each of Gin's blood family knowing them as the prophets, before killing them the hunters would take care to poor acid on their eyes blinding them
-And Gin was caught and subjected to this fate, and being blinded by the hunters hands
-but she managed to escape to the hunters by some miracle having felt the fear of these humans
-as even a child Gin used these feeling of theirs's against them and cause infighting between the hunters allowing her a chance to break from them and run

-she ran, she ran as hard and as fast as she could, blinded and in horrible amounts of pain Gin stumbled and tripped through the woods not knowing which way was what
-from Gin's frantic escape in the trees a few of the other surviving members of the coven found her and quickly whisked her away to somewhere safe
-after the hunters ended their attack, very few of the coven members had survived
-they being Gin, the husband wife and son of the dryad hybrid family, and the middle daughter of the other family

-the coven began to move again with Gin now having to learn how to navigate the world without sight
-it got better over time but Gin's inability to see started to cause her empathic sense to become extremely sensitive as she was attempting to use it to gauge where people were
-this became a problem as even the slightest shift in another person's mood would have Gin's head turning and if she felt anything somewhat negative would immediately send her into fight or flight
-the coven trying to find a way to combat this issue so Gin could hopefully be functional in society, thought that a familiar might be their best bet
-easily enough Gin was able to summon a snake familiar of fae nature and promptly named her "Tonic"

-this improved Gin's mental state a lot
-In around a year the coven found their way to a small farming town and acquainted themselves with another local witches coven
-Gin's coven played the role of an average family that had "adopted" both Gin and the other girl witch and lived in hiding like that for the rest of Gin's childhood and teen years

-at some point Gin decided to move to Bracken Falls for work and has been living there ever since

Powers
Abilities▪

-Familiar Connection: Gin's snake familiar "Tonic" is much more than a helping companion, Tonic unlike many familiars is not born of demonic nature but that of the fae. Tonic's whole purpose is to be Gin's "eyes" she being able to read and help guide Gin much like a seeing eye animal but magical
As well Tonic can transform into a scarf as a way to hide

-Empathic Sense: Gin is able to feel the emotions of those around her, it can be more of a curse than a blessing at times especially in crowded settings, Gin often uses her empathic ability to gauge where other people are

-Faery Fire: using something that can produce fire Gin can create faery fire, it can't really burn much but it's warm and bright, with the added effect of being any colour she wants as well its nack for sticking to things and being hard to stamp out

-Divining: using the adders stone she wears as a necklace or some other type of item Gin can divine with the basis of "finding" i.e: finding things that are lost, finding which direction to go, finding who is lying, finding what is the right answer, etc.

-Hex Bags: Gin can make small charms called hex bags to use for herself or to give to other people, often these small bags are filled with different components that can have a variety of effects such as: good luck, bad luck, good health, good sleep, minor protection, illusions, etc.

Weakness ▪
-Blind: Due to a past injury Gin is completely blind, to the point magic could not fix it

-Need for Magical Conduits: most of the types of magic Gin uses she needs an item or tool such as charms, stones, plants, etc. to cast magic
without any of these items she basically becomes as useful as a very magical human who can read emotions

-Iron: suppresses her ability to use magic and cannot cross a threshold if the door frame is made of iron

-Brass Bells: the sound of brass bells ringing will bring immediate and deafening pain to Gin's ears, even cause her eardrums to rupture if the sound is loud enough

-Poppy Seed Extract: if consumed in any amount it will paralyze Gin, and if a lot is ingested it can become deadly

-Emotional Blackouts: if Gin becomes overwhelm by her empathic sense she mentally blacks out where she doesn't move, talk, and at times collapses. she can appear awake but it's a lights are on but no one's home kind of deal. these blackouts can last for only a few seconds and up to a few minutes while her brain reboots itself
this most often occurs if Gin is in an overly crowded places, if there is a lot strong emotions in one place, or if someone overpowers her emotions with their own

-Cream: shit hits like hard tequila, enough of it and she's out
