Description Pixel Art Academy is an adventure game that teaches you art!

It's my newest project to get me back into game development. Best news of all? Its Kickstarter campaign has launched!!!

So now that the commercial break is over let's talk about the piece.

This is the art studio location from the game. Every player will get an art studio where they can "work" on their new pieces (meaning upload them to record progress … the campaign video explains more). This is kinda the concept for it and maybe somewhere along the way (very probably not in first year) you'll even be able to customize it.

It uses Atari 2600 color palette and I just did a heavy AA (anti-aliasing) pass on it, because I wanted to learn it (I'm very new to it and it probably shows). It also helps, because I had a lot of non-ideal diagonals since it's a perspective+architectural scene.

I'm ok with it for the level I'm at. There is so much more to learn, which is also the reason why I'm making the game, not so much to teach others (I can only share some knowledge to beginners), but to make a fun environment and tool for anyone at any experience level to improve.

Hope you like it! If you think others would enjoy a game about learning art, let them know!

This is lush and vibrant and really reminds me of Amiga era point and clicks.  Great job.

The perspective in this image is stunning well done. I extremely like the lighting from the windows from the bright exterior creating a much more detailed picture.

Thanks, perspective is something I love to do, especially one point! Glad it shows off.

Do you use a Mac in your actual sprite work?

Yes, although a MacBook Pro. I did have an iMac at my previous job, best machine I ever used.   Well, but don't trust me, I'm an Apple fanboy.
