This went on for the next few months. Angeal and I were inseparable. Every time he laughed, I did as well. I honestly thought he could be the one. I loved how honor meant so much to him, something he would fight for.

"Angeal…" I was so nervous.

"Yes…?" He turned around and smiled. That didn't help my nerves.

"Um…I wanted to tell…"

"I love you." He beat me to it. "I wanted to say it first." He came over and kissed me. I placed my arms around his neck. This was our first kiss of many to come, I felt. "I have something for you." He pulled away reaching into his pocket.

"You don't have to buy me things, Angeal!" I was blushing.

"I don't have to but I want to." He pulled out a box. "No, it's not a wedding ring but a promise ring.
You don't have to accept it, I will understand. It's a big decision." His face stern.

He wasn't kidding. It wasn't a wedding ring but close enough. If I accepted it, I was promising to marry him when the time came he actually got one.

"She doesn't want to commit to anyone, Angeal. Don't feel bad." Genesis had made my life miserable ever since I turned him down.

"It's not a problem. I understand. I'm to set in old ways." He chuckled. I instantly felt bad. I was old fashioned too and I didn't accept the ring.

"I do want to accept it." Angeal's face lit up. "But not here, not around Genesis. When I'm older and think back to when this happened, I don't want to see his face in my memories." Angeal let out a loud laugh. Genesis was mad and stormed out.

"Alright, let's try this again. Alette, will you take this promise ring?" His face showed he was scared. I shook my head up and down. He pulled the ring out of its box and slid it on my ring finger. It was gorgeous and it could've passed for a wedding band. He took his and placed it on his as well.

"I'm happy you took it." He kissed my head and reached for my hand.

*Months later*

The promise ring told me two things. One, it was going to be awhile before he would actually ask for my hand in marriage. Two, he would stay committed to me. I never had to worry about Angeal; he wasn't the type to do that. His honor was important as I was. I never even caught him looking at other women. Angeal was going to introduce me to someone today.

"Zack, meet Alette." The boy Zack looked like Angeal. I started panicking. Had he been married
before?!

"Ohhhh, so you're the one he talks about all the time!" Oh God. It was his son. "Hey, ma'am you ok?"

"Angeal, come here for a minute." Zack was confused. Angeal walked away from him.

"Why didn't you tell me you had a son? Did you marry the poor girl who had him?!" I was shaking.

I never heard Angeal laugh so hard in my life. He grabbed onto his sides, hurting from laughing too
hard. "Zack isn't my son. We're not even related!" He wiped a tear away, still laughing.
