Yeah, let's see, I guess he simply has Superman type abilities, even has his own Fortress of Solitude (The Containment Dome), but he's got that piece of lightning bolt shaped shrapnel stuck in his head, which forces him to always wear a hat while in his civilian identity. Yeah, anyways, that's the simple version to the answer you want.
