Description “I don’t know,” he said. “It’s like…the way the earth looks, or the way it smells, after a summer’s shower: it’s blissful. In that moment, nothing’s wrong, nothing’s right; it’s just…a perfect memory. Just like her.” His therapist nodded understandingly.

“So what you’re saying is that she was perfect for you in every way, but wrong for you in every way?” he questioned, trying to get a better grip on his patient’s description.

His patient nodded slightly, his raven hair falling in his face. His bright, crystal blue eyes were always rimmed thickly with eyeliner, and his frail body was wrapped tightly in leather skinny jeans and ripped up cut-offs. A few of his fresh tattoos stood out from his apparel; they were in the process of healing, so his body was still a bit sore.

“I just can’t come to realize that she’s gone. She isn’t here anymore,” Andy, the patient, whispered to himself. “And it’s because of me.” Andy’s therapist shook his head slightly, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder.

“Andy, it wasn’t your fault,” he said. “It was the other person’s fault, they weren’t paying attention.”

Andy’s therapist, Mr. Brown, was a very humble, middle-aged man. While Andy stood at 6”3’, Mr. Brown was a small 5”4’. Something about Mr. Brown made Andy more comfortable than ever; which made him spill his feelings more than he ever would to his best friend. Something was different with him, unlike everyone else. He was understanding, like he had gone through the same situation Andy was in.

“I still could’ve been more careful,” he said, looking down at his shoes. “I just…wish I could do something to get her back.”

Mr. Brown nodded, writing a little note down on the pad of paper he always had with Andy’s sessions. “Andy, you have to understand that death is irreversible; what happens with death happens. It can’t be done a different way, nor can it be brought back. You have to drown yourself in past experiences with Eve if you want to get over her death.”

The raven haired man shut his eyes tightly, fighting back the tears. Come on, Andy. It’s natural to cry over a death; even if you are a man. He opened his eyes, looking around the room for the millionth time during his session.

“It’s hard to think back to the past with Eve without crying, though. I know it’s natural to cry over a death or whatever, but it’s been almost three months…” Andy trailed off, looking at the clock. Ten more minutes, Andy thought to himself. Something exciting better happen or I’m done.

“I know, but you have to pull through. Just think back to the past, it’ll bring her back in a sense.” Andy sighed and nodded, adjusting himself out of the seat to shake Mr. Brown’s hand for the hundredth time. “Good luck, Andy, and please don’t do something stupid. Don’t forget to write in your journal tonight!” Andy nodded, seeing himself out of Mr. Brown’s office and out to the corridor. His long gazelle legs walked towards the elevators, pushing the down button and waiting for the elevator to open.

While he was waiting, he felt a sense that someone familiar was around him. There were almost twenty people in Mr. Brown’s corridor, working or waiting. He wouldn’t be able to see who that aura was coming off of in the time the elevator would be here.

The elevator dinged and its doors opened, letting Andy walk into it and pushing the lobby button. A few people rushed into the elevator before the doors closed each pressing different buttons, each going to different places, each having different lives. As the elevator was sent down to the lobby, Andy leaned against the wall, looking over towards a woman who locked eyes with him.

He furrowed his eyebrows as the woman quickly looked away from him; almost too quickly for a human. Andy shrugged it off, thinking it was just a trick of his mind, or that he had little sleep. The elevator dinged for the last time, letting a few people off, including Andy.

The woman who had locked eyes with Andy started walking away with a quicker pace. He was confused with the woman; she had a different presence, like she knew Andy, or the two had been friends forever.

He shrugged it off again, bracing himself for the short walk to his small apartment a few blocks down. Once Andy arrived home, he threw his leather jacket on the arm of his couch. “Hey dude,” Andy’s best friend, Ashley, mumbled. “How was your session?”

Andy shrugged, faking a half smile. “Like always,” he said, walking towards the fridge in the small kitchen. The apartment wasn’t like any ordinary apartment. It held four bedrooms, two in a half baths, a medium sized kitchen, and a huge living room. Though the lighting could be better, it was perfect enough for Ashley and Eve.

He grabbed a beer out of the fridge, popping the cap off and taking a swig of it. Ashley followed him into the kitchen, watching him carefully. He was worried about his best friend since Eve had passed. Yeah, it was a huge loss to the band, but it really made Andy distant from everyone. The rest of the band really missed the old Andy, but they understood why he was acting this way; everyone was acting different, too.

“Well, I think I know what will cheer you up!” Ashley exclaimed as he stepped a bit closer to Andy. His chocolate brown eyes widened and filled with excitement as he looked up at Andy.

“And that is?” Andy asked mischievously. He was kind of beat up and just wanted to go to his room and lay in bed for the rest of the day. He didn’t feel like connecting to the world anymore, he was pretty much done with life.

The blue eyed wonder furrowed his eyebrows as the Outlaw walked out of the kitchen and into his room. Andy followed Ashley into the room, watching him as he shuffled through a few boxes filled with movies and action figures. Andy figured what he was doing, and a small smile crept onto his face; a real one. And it felt amazing to smile for real; it hadn’t happened in a while.

“Oh God,” Andy said, chuckling lightly as he took another swig of his beer. “I can already tell what you’re doing.” Ashley stopped shuffling through the boxes, looking up at Andy with a look of a smartass.

“Oh really?” Ashley teased.

“You’re looking for my Batman movies and action figures so we can have a movie night!” Andy exclaimed excitedly, putting his beer down and helping Ashley find a few movies. Ashley chuckled and nodded, getting back to work.

After about ten minutes, the two found five movies and were already sprawled out on the couch with two bags of popcorn and blankets covering them. Andy was actually enjoying himself without the thought of Eve and her death crossing his mind. Ashley was proud of himself, considering this wouldn’t have happened without his thought.

After the second movie had ended, Andy looked up at the clock which read 5:27. It wasn’t getting too late, but since Andy was enjoying a little fun, he decided to stay up a little while. Ever since Eve’s passing, Andy would stay in bed all day and never get up; only to use the restroom. And if he ever did come out of his room to the outside world, he’d go back to bed real early.

“Are you sure you want to watch another one?” Ashley asked, getting off the couch and taking the DVD out of the player. Andy nodded, pushing back his raven black hair out of his pale face.

“Of course,” he said, smiling slightly. “I could never say no to Batman.” He looked down at his Batman tattoo on his forearm as Ashley put in another movie. He lightly traced the outline of the bat, his crystal eyes glowing a bit as he remembered the way it would feel when Eve did the same thing.

No, stop. Don’t think about her right now. It’s time to have a little fun, to relax and not be so depressed, Andy told himself as the other movie started. But that didn’t help him at all.

He sighed a few minutes into the movie, realizing that his depression was creeping back on him. He thought back to Eve and the car crash, making it impossible to pay attention to the movie.

”Andy!” Eve exclaimed, her falsetto voice echoing through the house. His crystal eyes widened and he jumped to his feet, running out of his room and into the living room.

“What?” he exclaimed, seeing that Eve had his car keys in her hand.

“Let’s go somewhere,” she said, smiling widely. He smiled back, walking down the steps of their house. He grabbed his boots, slipping them on and walking towards Eve. She grinned up at him, dangling the keys in front of his face. He grinned back at her, grabbing her waist and pulling her closer to him.

His lips grazed on hers, making her loosen her grip on the keys. He kept kissing her, sneaking the keys out of her hands and putting them in his pocket. The two parted from the kiss and walked outside to the car, each getting in their seats.

“Where do you want to go, hun?” he asked, keying the ignition and waiting for her to put her seatbelt on.

“I don’t know,” she said, pondering on the question. “Somewhere, I don’t care; anywhere.” Andy chuckled and nodded, pulling out of their driveway and driving towards the main road.

After about ten minutes of driving, the two were almost five miles away from their house, and still counting; but not for long. Andy took a sharp right, wanting to take the highway towards the outlet malls. Another car was coming towards him, making a sharp left from the other side. He didn’t have time to react, and the next thing he knew: his car was airborne and had hit Eve on her side.

Andy’s piercing scream rung through passerby’s ears. “Eve!” He grabbed her hand, making sure she was still with him. She barely grasped his pale, lanky hand; but it was enough to give Andy comfort. “It’s okay,” he said. “Help in on the way. But you have to stay with me.” Her grip started to loosen as time went by, and panic snuck in.

“I-I love you,” Eve said before her soul was ripped out of her body.

“You can’t leave me!”

Andy closed his eyes tightly, holding back the waterworks. He shook his head, adjusting himself from under the covers and off the couch. He walked up the stairs, knowing he was being watched by Ashley. As he locked his bedroom door behind himself, he grabbed his journal that Mr. Brown had given him in the beginning of their sessions.

He opened up to the first page, seeing scribbles of Eve everywhere. Mr. Brown
intended that the journal’s purpose was for whatever was on Andy’s mind, and apparently Eve was; every second of every day.

“I miss you so much,” he whispered to himself as he opened to a new page, grabbing his pencil and writing down the date. “I just…wish you were still here. If only I had been more careful, you’d still be here.” He sighed and started writing down what was on his mind.

After five minutes, almost three pages, front and back, were filled. All of them were about Andy’s depression, and Eve. Tiny quotes from songs he had wrote, nostalgic memories of the two, and sketches of Eve had filled the margins up.

He gasped as a tear hit the page, making a tiny spot damp. He wiped his eyes, making his eyeliner smear over his face. He didn’t care; he wasn’t impressing anyone at this point. Andy balled his fists up, digging his long fingernails into his palms, making the tears subside a bit.

I can’t do this anymore; not without her. It’s too hard, it’s too lonely down
here, Andy thought. He shook his head; the negative thoughts were coming back, and quick. He panicked, feeling an anxiety attack brewing in the pit of his stomach. He looked towards his bookshelf, seeing a tiny black, opaque container sitting at the edge of one of the shelves.

He stood up from his chair, walking towards the container and opening its lid, revealing anywhere from ten to fifteen different sharp objects; sharp enough to break his pale skin and send his thick blood up to the surface.

He shook his head, sliding a few bracelets up his arm, revealing his scarlet cuts; fresh and old. He bit his bottom lip hard, holding the sharp razor against his thin skin hard. He shut his eyes tightly, swiping the blade across his skin and moaning quietly as the stinging sensation sunk in.

As his crystal eyes looked down at his wrist, they started flooding with salty tears. “Andy,” Ashley said behind the door, knocking a few times and trying the doorknob. “Is everything okay in there?”

Andy shook his head to himself. “Yeah,” he said, his sultry voice echoing through his bare room. “I’m fine, just…writing.” His eyes shifted towards his journal, which was still open to the few pages he had wrote in a few minutes ago.

“Alright,” Ashley said. “Can I come in, though?” Andy looked down at his wrist, putting his razor back in the container.

“Yeah, just…give me a minute.” Panic sunk in once more, and another anxiety attack was brewing. He tried to stop the bleeding, and quick. While doing so, he grabbed one of his long sleeved sweat shirts and a pair of sweat pants. He undressed quickly, making it seem like he had already been in his PJ’s.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” Ashley asked, still trying at the doorknob. Andy sighed, throwing on his sweat pants and sweat shirt, padding across his room and towards the door. He unlocked it and opened it slowly, revealing a worried Ashley.

He wrapped his best friend in a bro-hug. “Ashley?” Andy asked, confused as to why he would be hugging him so tightly. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Please, stop doing whatever you’re doing,” Ashley said, suspicious of Andy. He shrugged, pointing towards his journal on his desk.

“I’ve been writing,” he said. Ashley nodded, peeking over Andy’s shoulder and
looking around his room. Everything seemed to be natural; Andy’s day clothes lay on the floor, bundled up; his bed sheets were ruffled around like he had been laying in it for a few minutes, and his journal opened up to a certain page.

“Alright,” Ashley said, nodding slightly. “Sorry for intruding on your time.” Andy shrugged, walking back into his room.

“I know what I must do,” Andy said to himself as he relocked the door. “I have to
see you, Eve. But, there’s only one way.”

Andy shuffled towards his bathroom, looking through the medicine cabinet for some painkillers he could down and overdose on. It was time for Andy, and he knew it. It was time for him to see Eve for the first time in a while.

It was time to leave this cruel world and enter a new one. “Only a few hours and I’ll see you, Eve,” he whispered as he downed half the bottle. He unlocked his door so Ashley could at least come in whenever he wanted to. Before walking towards his bed to sleep for the last time, he looked at his favorite picture of Eve and Andy.

The two were at the park, and they sat on a bench with a gigantic bush behind them. Jake had taken the picture and edited it a bit. Andy and Eve made kissy faces towards each other, both of their eyes closed. It was a blissful moment; girlfriend and friends. After a while of looking at the photo, he kind of regretted his choice, but he needed to see Eve again.

Andy walked towards his journal and opened a new page up, tearing it out and frantically writing. He started out with a few apologies.

First of all, just know this isn’t any of you guys’ fault. I love you all so dearly, but I needed to see Eve. I love her so dearly, and I couldn’t take it anymore down here without her. Please, forgive me for my choice. Second of all, tell the fans that I needed to go. It was my time and that I will see them all in heaven; including you guys. I love you all, my Fallen Angels.

Andy walked towards his bed, setting the suicide note down on the pillow next to him. He covered himself up for the last time, turning out his bedside light off for the last time, and closing his eyes for the last time.

I love you so much.
