I'm assuming that you used a bump map for that? and either painted the battle damage onto the texture or used a damaged metal texture?

Yes, it's a bump map with a special noise texture. Cinema 4D has a noise shader called "Electric". I just used a Low Clip of 4% and a High Clip of 13% and it fits really good I reckon .

I've been using Cinema 4D for so many years now but I believe awesome things can be created in every major 3D application .
