Whew! Been working on this one for a while xD I was thinking of doing a sort of subtle fanart piece for Red Dead Redemption and fished out an old edited screenshot I downloaded from tumblr to use as reference. [link] Unfortunately the original post isn't coming up on the google images search :/I enjoyed playing with the colors and working on the horse in particular
I've never really been a big fan of Cleveland Bays, but after painting this thing I kind of want to get one for Jackieboy now. Painting the rocks was also a challenge. (For big pieces of earth with flat planes, they're really three-dimensional!)/Constructive criticism is heavily encouraged, and will really be appreciated!

I really like the use of colors - it's nice and gives the picture some kind of Texas atmosphere.
I also love the way you draw the cowboy's pose, and his position. The lighting on the rocks and his right side makes him look mystery and real at the same time.
About the horse - I agree with ~Aviator92 . But, I think you did good with the saddle.

I have to agree with Aviator -- the horse's head does look a bit off. (Maybe it's the mane making me think he has no neck. . .) But it does look pretty! The time spent on the rocks was well worth it.

Is that your first time drawin' horse? Gotta say, his head looks a bit "roundy". There should be a "choke" at the part of his head which is between the mug and cheeks.
