Description Part of a series of paintings that deconstruct the narrative process. Having always been interested in storytelling, I decided to examine the very nature of how and why we tell stories. Each image in this series illustrates a different aspect/structural element of narrative. The images focus on concepts such as conflict, resolution, the idea of the status quo, the hero's transformation and the eternal return. The protagonist is just that, the very embodiment of the "hero" - his suit, a modern representative of a knights armor also doubles as the "burden only he can wear."

I had a lot of fun on this series. They are all watercolor, with the exception of "The Guide" which is oil on gessoed paper. Each image is 22x30 inches (56x76 cm).

Is amazing the level of your technique in watercolor, here I love too the character stylization and the spiky air of the guy.

Thank you. It was a choice I made mainly because I didn't want the character to be too recognizable as any particular person.

Well, works fine for that, but looks pretty cool also, it gives a special look to your work.

Excellent series. The titles and composition/subjects are like bullet points driving the message, but its up to the reader to interpret each image and the whole series within the context of how much they know of storytelling and their own story (life).

Thank you - I spent many many sleepless nights working out the compositions and details, much like I do for all my works. But these in particular, EVERYTHING means SOMETHING.
