Oh yes, I make Genshin Impact fanart now. Granted, it's just for the one guy.

So this piece started as a desire to do a Magic: The Gathering-style piece of Tighnari, as a probable custom playmat piece, as well as an opportunity to work on more human subjects to expand my repertoire.

The first iteration of the playmat design was actually borne from one of the first times I made fanart of Tighnari, in a more graphic style than what I ended up with here, but I shelved that one since it wasn't up to my expectations.

Planning this piece went well, and putting the painting together was smooth until I hit a roadblock rendering the main model. Removing the main subject from the piece to work on it separately, I reworked sections of the main subject constantly until I was satisfied, and returned the subject back to the painting to render the background and finish the painting up.
