That explains why they look like oils.

Hmm...Actually, I consider everything created on the computer to be "digital". Now, if you're talking about "rendered" as opposed to hand painted, well, my illustrations are both! You see, once I've rendered an image, it goes into my paint program (usually Corel Photopaint, but sometimes Adobe Photoshop) where I push, pull, smudge, smear, add, subtract, brighten, darken...and then finally add the brush strokes that give it that "hand-painted" look. There's not one corner of the original render left untouched.
