Description
A commission I did via Ebay. The buyer said, "Draw Cleopatra". I emailed back, "You mean a specific Cleopatra from a movie or video game or something?. He said, "Nope, just Cleopatra."It's very awesome to get such an open commission request, at the same time, it's daunting. I actually wanted to get really crazy with it and make this weird sci-fi gothic crazy costume design for her, like something that stepped out of a Tarsem movie. But I still wanted to make it look like the classic image of Cleopatra, and stay within what the buyer was after.

Only thing i know about Cleopatra is she was a mysterious beauty, almost a sex symbol 
And that i loooove all the egyptian accessories and hieroglyphs

Couple things to keep in mind. One, cleopatra was of Greek descent, but fully embraced Egyptian culture, going so far as to learn how to read heiroglyphs. Two, after her fall, all traces of her were destroyed, so no one knows what she looks like. I do agree on the necklace, it does look slightly Zulu tribe more than Egyptian...

Yep Now I even recal that there was even more than one cleopatra...
As for this one, the best thing it's a fresh idea far from the "average egyptian queen" cliche...

This is true. I do like the remake, very fresh and amazing in a hypnotic way
