Description I know this idea is overused, but I JUST had to make a fanart of Iji. I love this game so much, especially the music and character development. Lots of text to read and controls might be a little tough to you at first, but still, it is one of the most awesome indie games I've played. It might even rival my love for Cave Story <3333

Those who never heard of this game, hot damn click on the link here now and download it. www.remar.se/daniel/iji.php I recommend this game. Especially to avid readers who love character development.
Also I dare you to finish 100% of the game. And go through Sector Z.

Yeah I'm going to finish the Freezing animation soon, just had to take a break and try my hand on vector again. It's a lot harder this time.

[EDIT] Photoshop Elements is a pain in the ass if you want to draw straight lines. Seriously. They should have that line function at least so that my life can be so much better. Excuse the wobbly lines, it ain't my fault.

An interesting one. Simple but still very nice.
Sounds promising if it is a rival for Cave Story.

Actually it really depends on the player. This game has a LOT more text than Cave Story. CS is more about the action and storyline, whereas if you read the logs in Iji, it's more about character development based on their dialog and sometimes even thoughts about them. If you're someone who likes visuals more than text then CS is likely better because we witness many events happening with a lot less to read than the logs in Iji. I personally feel a lot closer to the characters of Iji because the game generally tackles deeper issues and I can relate more to them(even though they're aliens) than to CS characters. CS is still really fun though, it's a lot easier to understand and I have to admit, a little less tiring than Iji.

Iji is very interesting though. You get to choose to be a pacifist(0 kills) or a killer. The paths, experiences, dialogs and even endings are really different based on how you play the game. The creator took very precise measures to actually alter the paths and a LOT of effort was put into the character's attitudes and stuff. There's also some forth wall breaking, amusing extras/logs and awesome(probably a little redundant to some people, but still fun) sidequests. You really have to play it again and again to get 100% of the game. And you HAVE to play it at least 3 times in order to unlock everything. Some people might not like it, but the music is too amazing and the game is just too awesome for me to not try to unlock stuff. I really respect Daniel Remar for making such a game. He put a LOT, a LOT of effort into it, and in the end it's still free. Heck, if I hadn't chanced upon Iji i might consider putting like 4/5 of Daniel's effort into Initializing, AND still charge it.

I really wanna talk about Iji and its differences/similarities with CS more but this comment would be too long

Anyway, both games are good in their own way, and I'm glad to say they really changed my life for the better.

Hmm.... sounds really interesting now if you to talk about it like this.
I like text but if it becomes too much I lose the will to keep going for long.
Choosing paths is sonething I love in games (one of the reasons for me to play Bioshock).
Playing it over and over again and again is something I'm not sure about.
It depends on the decisions I can make to change the experience.
I'll give it a try and if I don't like it I still can stop.
If you wanna talk more about just send a note I'd like to hear more.
