Actually, at some point AH said that he really didn't care that much about the ages of his characters when writing the dialoges. But i'm glad that they get to grow up 3 years, if just because the age difference between alpha and beta sessions would have felt some kind of wrong. -__-a

If you're in Act 5, you're still reading the Beta Session with the Beta kids: John, Jade, Dave, Rose. It was named beta because Hussie first tried to make HS all in flash, but it was too much work for him and he only got to page 15 or so before he restarted all over in gif format. So the HS we've all read and love is the "beta" Homestuck.
Now he's turned the whole "Beta-thing" into a plot device, and the current session that's taking place is the alpha session, which has 4 new kids-
But really, I better shut up my mouth before I spoil you anything else!

That being said, they all look so fantastic wow. ;u; Rose you look beautiful omg, I love how happy she looks, which I can imagine she would be pretty psyched! I mean damn, she was set on that suicide mission for a long time, so 8I. I mean, she's obviously not going to go run around and wave her arms like a maniac about it, but I just love how smiley she is. It's kind of like her version of running around and screaming for joy. ;u;

AND AND AND I really like how you captured Jade's seemingly much calmer personality. ;u; Because she does seem a lot less hyper and crazy, which is probably all that omniscience hahaha but it's just really cool to see that depicted so well.

Okay yeah I just love this entire thing really. I'm so freaking happy that they're all godtier, because it's like AAHHH I thought Rose and Dave were both screwed for months, and then OOPS HUSSIE EMOTIONALLY MURDERED ME by killing Jade who is my FAVORITE. And then it's like "oh god John JOHN what if he dies too noooooo."

I might be saying the obvious but, yeah, the background colors are the colors of their shoes. You seem to be the only one that has either noticed or bothered to point it out *laughs* One of the things about the tier designs I loved the most is the shoes. Because a) they are not sneakers (and this is my one and only problem with Hussie's character designs. Everyone wears them) b) they are a lovely way to add an extra touch of color to the characters clothes c) they pair the kids among themselves? I mean, with Jade and Dave swaping theme colors is pretty obvious. Rose and John is also there, but since John's shoes are yellow not orange i'm not so sure about it
One of the things I missed the most about Rose when she went grimdark was that mischieful smile of hers. Also, I'm glad that she's finally living up her hero title, at least when it comes to clothing *laughs* And okay, John is my favourite. His always merry go round and trickterly personality charmed me since the first act. I hope we'll see him doing plenty of windy things in the future. And oh gosh, I can't wait to see him meet Jane (and see if he'll freak out with the whole betty crocker merchandising that Nana keeps in her room).
And Dave. Oh, Dave. He could wear everything he wants and still look cool on it. Because being cool is an attitude. Right now he looks like a knight, which passes nicely to his title. I know it's not everyone piece of cake but we've only seem like, 1 minute of his new outfit in action? Let's wait for him to show up in the normal format, and i'm sure it's going to look much better. Even if It could be all an ironic design, as expected from the author from SBAHJ *giggles*
About Jade being calmer than usual... I don't know. To me, she spent so much time sleeping in the first acts that I just think her as much more calmer than most of the other fans. Plus, she's practically a goddess right now. She has to come down and act the deal, while looking pretty and badass all at the same time *laughs* Hmm, I have to confess that I never feared for Jade's safety or her not getting the tiger. In fact, the first thing that came to my mind in the update before Cascade was that she was about to get tiger and save everyone's day. But that she would fuse with dream-dog-sprite-jade was something I didn't see coming.
And gosh. Cascade was the most awesome homestuck related 13 mins I've ever watched.
What I also didn't see coming was Rose and Dave turning tier. With Aradia and Vriska already being the same kind of heros, I supposed Hussie didn't really have any need to make another pair of Time and Light tigers. But he did. And i was so happy. And I can't help thinking that both of them were the ones that most deserved it, because they seemed to be the ones to suffer most through the session and the beta timelines.
But everyone got tiger.
And Jade was awesome.
And everyone was happy-
and I can't wait to see what's going to happen with the next kids' session *__________*

Yes, I love that their shoes do that! Swap colors like that I mean. I probably love it so much because it's such a neat little detail and, haha, I also ship John/Rose and Dave/Jade so YEAH. XD
ALSO, about John's shoes: They do correspond with Rose's outfit, even though they're yellow instead of orange. I think the shoes, with the exception of Dave's (probably because it would be too subtle?), are supposed to match the color of the Hero symbol on their shirts, not the darker outfit surrounding it? Because Rose's Light symbol IS yellow, and actually, Rose's shoes are a very bright blue like John's Breath symbol. So yeah. 8D
Yes! I really do love Rose a lot, and I'm so glad to see her so smiley and happy again. She was just so gloomy for a while, and it didn't make me love her any less, but it's just nice to finally see her happy again. ;u; The kids are my babies always, I want them all to be happy and safe. XD And John's goofy nature is just so fun, I love him to death. I feel terrible because, I actually started reading Homestuck bitterly, because it was all my friends talked about and I was reading it only so I could understand what they were saying to each other again. So John, unfortunately, suffered a lot of my negative feelings that I had compiled pre-Homestuck. I came to adore him eventually, and he is easily one of my top favorites now, I just feel so bad for being so hard on him in the first couple of acts hahaha. D:
Exactly! He looks like a KNIGHT. That's why I think it's so cool, because his outfit really corresponds with his title!!! That's probably why Rose's is my favorite, because she LOOKS like a Seer! I mean, I love John and Jade's outfits too, but especially John's it's like... I can't see the Heir in that, and it's cute and it suits him and god knows I think John needs to wear more short sleeves and tan those arms of his, but I mean... It doesn't say Heir to me, I guess. Jade's does look more like a Witch, I'll admit. XD I still love them all though, I think god tiers are the best and I pretty much would do anything to have some real GT PJs. XDDD
That actually makes sense! I don't think she's quite as "8D!!!!!!" as a lot of the fandom makes her out to be. That's more Feferi's style, and it's not bad, I just don't think it's quite Jade? I think people just put "SUPER HAPPY" and "SUPER EXCITED" too close together these days, but I do agree with you actually! I never really thought about it, but she is more calm-cheerful than I gave her credit for. I guess she just looks like a caffeinated sugar-binged squirrel compared to Rose as far as animated excitement goes, so I got thrown off! XD
I had thought that maybe, since Jade prototyped her dream self, she might be able to ascend to god tiers again, but I didn't think Hussie would actually do it. It just seemed too crazy to have an ENTIRE SESSION of god tiers. I always manage to underestimate how many typical story rules Hussie breaks on a regular basis. It's not bad at all, it's REALLY interesting, it's just, most stories do NOT take all the turns Homestuck has. John reaching god tier? Makes sense!!! He IS the main character after all, it's normal for the protagonist to ultimately excel! And the other kids are main characters too, but not MAIN-MAIN characters. They are the Rons and Hermiones of Homestuck, to me. Almost always there, but still not the protagonist, you know? And Ron and Hermione are not the ones destined to defeat Voldemort, so I wouldn't expect them to excel as well as Harry would, not because they're incompetent, but because as a storyteller, your protagonist needs to shine.
But Hussie is like NOPE GOD TIERS FOR EVERYBODY. And at first that confuses and disorients me, but then it's just the coolest shit ever, basically. 8D He doesn't do what most stories do, and that is the most interesting and fantastic thing ever. It's inspiring, too, for aspiring writers and such like myself. ;u;
And dog tier is my favorite thing, pretty much. I love Jade, and I love Jadesprite. Now I have them both in one and my love is more powerful than ever. XD
I cannot WAIT to see John's reaction to Jane's support for Betty Crocker. It's going to be pretty fantastic. I'm already voting for it as "best pesterlog ever." XD

Hehe, thankies! Rose was actually the first one I drew, I was just so happy to see her smile with that mischieful smile of hers again! And the costumes... were, I think they were all pretty cool since the begining. Some people may say that Dave isn't, but even if ironically or not, he's a knight, so it fits him pretty well (just take down the hoodie to see him again in all his awesome).
So, about the new updates.
Jane is such a cutie. And Jake is such a badass. I'm also glad that they are older than Sburb beta kids. And I can't wait for DadJohn to show up!!
Althought I hope that Hussie doesn't try to rush into the story too soon. I'm really hoping Act 6 to reach the levels of silliness of the first Homestuck acts.

Yah dave's god teir costume has actually grown on me quite a bit. I think it definitely suits him. As for the new stuff, it looks great so far! It's so good to see some new characters (although they're not technically new... or actually they kinda are... but you know what I mean). I find hussie really comes up with some of his best stuff when he reveals new characters and goes through all thier quirks.

BUT, Jade's Prospit self was already there, even before she entered the session. So yes, Nanna is probably alive as her Dream self right now, and will enter the game as a sprite, just like Aradia did.
What makes me wonder, what will happen to Jake, whose dream is already dead? Will he turn into LE or something if he dies? o-o hope not

Well, actually, about the tiers designs. The first big fanart hype after the Cascade update was of course, Dogtier. It kind of bugged how much ignored Rose and Dave's designs were, specially since most of the fandom had given up the hopes of seen them get the tiger (and I confess it was one of the things I loved the most about the flash). Of course a) Jade was the main character in the EoA, saving everyones day b) her design was done by Lexxy, not by Hussie, which means that it's was already going to be 20& more moe than any of the others.
And okay, noone liked Dave's design at first, but please, he looks like he's supposed to be, a Knight! And so does Rose (she's right now my favourite tierdesign, I have to confess), the sudden change of her color palette fitting her so much better (and making a lovely contrast against her grimdark modus).
The only one that has me worried right now is John. He's got the simplest design, which maybe a good or a bad thing. Is good because it fits his pure heart or something like that. Bad because you notice that the others have so much more interesting hoodies. -__-a

I really like Jade's dogtier design, but I totally agree with you about Rose and Dave's designs. I was a little disappointed, thinking that the only one to reach god tier would be John, so when I watched Cascade for the first time I was just so happy. I also realized that their costumes actually match their Hero designations (Knight, Bard, Thief) and it made me really want to see what some of the trolls' god tier designs would be.
I'm still not completely crazy about Dave's design, but it does fit him and I do like the accents that make it appropriate for a Knight. (Also, the way you drew him just makes me appreciate it a little more :3) Now, Rose's design I absolutely love. It's perfect not only for a Seer but also for her as a character. A costume with a neat hood over her eyes is, I think, what she's needed this whole time. And I always found it somewhat ironic that the Seer of Light was constantly enshrouded in darkness and black magic, so I'm glad she's finally living up to her name. It's fantastic. I can't wait to see how Rose and Dave will use their new powers...
Yeah, John's costume is definitely the most basic now. One thing I love about all the god tier designs is how relatively simple they are, but his has pretty much nothing more to it than the really long hood. At least it's probably the easiest one to cosplay now, heh.
Here's to Act 6 beginning tomorrow! Are you excited? I really want to see some god tier powers being used!
