If you are not reading Fables by Bill Willingham (with multiple great artists, published by DC Vertigo. Up to 6 volumes of TPBs), then you should go read it. Now.

Not the best version of Snow White, but Bigby (aka the Big Bad Wolf) came out neat. They're so adorable. I guess this image is a bit of a spoiler for the later volumes, but really, you have to think/hope the sexual/romantic tension of the first couple of volumes HAD to go somewhere.

I like Bigby's human form a lot (gruff guys + trench coats + cigarettes = love) but wasn't brave enough to draw it. Plus, the time she hugged him when he was in his wolf form was so cute.

Fables is this decade's Sandman, if I may be so bold to say so. Unless somebody else can suggest a better comic series?

I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for (1) fantasy set in the modern world, (2) fantasy drawing from mythology and folklore, and (3) gruff guys in trench coats. Fables rocks my world.
