Description
Every year I try to give my girlfriend some kind of stuffed toy, and if I have the time it's one I make myself. This year it was a white stag, because we've done some RP stuff that's made that mythological figure very important to us. If you aren't familiar with it, the white stag to the Celts held a place of significance on a level with the unicorn. The fascinating difference being that there are real recorded instances of white stags. They're albino of course, but it's the kind of thing that makes you wonder where reality and mythology overlap.

Anyways, this guy was made from some velvety white fabric and fake fur left over from my white stag Halloween mask, which I need to upload pics of... His antlers are wire with Sculpey and paint over them, and his eyes are just those black plastic stuffed toy eyes you can buy at craft stores with a scrap of white fabric glued down for an eyelid. I didn't like the round-eyed look he had without that touch. There are pipe cleaners in his legs, but I pack the stuffing in firmly, and it's for support not to make them poseable. I designed the pattern, and I can see some flaws. He came out more cartoony than I was going for and the hoof design didn't quite work. Still, not bad for a rush pre-Christmas job.
