One question: how the heck did Steven and the Gems gain access to Aperture Science? GLaDOS probably would’ve killed… MOST of them within minutes of entry. Primitive hardware or no, she still is an AI. In other words, capable of learning on her own without any sort of help. And besides, no matter how hard it is, she probably would’ve found some method of “testing” the diamonds. Hell, same goes to all of them.

probably won’t stop her deploying crushers or turrets, though. If the toxic gas doesn’t poof them, the turrets WILL. If a sword can poof a gem, a few well placed bullets also can. Besides, she still has the emancipation grills to fall back on.
