Description
This illustration of Alice in Wonderland's Queen of Hearts is inspired by the book's description of the character. Ashley Stephens played her in The Lighthouse Theater's production of the play. So, I drew from her work there as well. Therefore, it is not based on Burton's movie in any way.
Drawing a character who is mad and illogical has been a lot of fun. I decided to push and distort some of the features, namely the dress. Since I am working on such a small piece of Bristol board, I focused my attentions and detailing on the dress. Obviously, I incorporated many hearts. ...and there is another reference to the book's description of her on her dress. Let's see if you can guess what it is.
