Description civilizations evolve,
civilizations grow,
empires rise,
fall and burn,
the history of the future,
every civilization falls,
as a new one rises,
just like egypt and babylon,
our empire wont last.

--

this was made at like 3am in the morning on the first day i learnt how to do planets,
i had a little bit of help with things like the glowing plasma engines of the ships, the starfield and the city lights.

Other than that, this work is from memory and my own logic.

I hope you people like it.

I wondered what kind of software you've used for this one......The atmosphere is well-set, and I think it deserves a good praise.

you might like some of my piece, I don't know. I do a little bit of space art but I only know how to use photoshop so its kind of limited.

nice job with this one, my favorite part would have to be the city lights on the dark side of the planet. once again, nice job with the space

well... let s see... one: it s too cool, but, when you apply the propiety of Spherize, you have to apply it on one image that be more detailed, I mean that the 'holes' are too big, and, you have to 'think' more the picture... for example: if there are living people, how can be that the planet have atmosphere and it doesn t have clouds? or, how can be that the moons have a so close target with the planet, and more, they are so big! so, the moons look like the planets, well that and more details that do than the image looks more real I will teach if you want, so if you have msn, yahoo messenger or skype, send me a note with one of these... you have a talent that wanna go out... bye!

though its not exactly meant to be 100% realistic i dont think.. it came out just how i wanted it to heh

Awsome but... For some odd reason, (in my eyes) the starfield looks like a layer or same looking dots (just different transperancies), making it lacking more depth... perhaps difference in size would make it have more depth, but, anyways, I like the texture of the planet a lot. the sharpness of the lights on the planet make it really look like it has civilizations

It's compelling to look at.... I like looking at all the different details one by one..... perhaps more of the green would make it a more balanced composition though

The layout of the objects in the picture is pleasing to the eye, and the colors are nice. But maybe fewer stars, that are a bit brighter.

rgnet In reply to CrystallineEssence [2005-10-22 18:16:23 +0000 UTC]

Thank you
it was a pretty simple texture,
and i just used Blending Options to make the atmospheric effects, and a gaussian blur on a circle to make the shadow
pretty simple.

Again, same with the other I commented on... i'd love to see a realistic starscape added to this. That would really set this off.
