Here are Thornton's parents, this is just before he took over the kingdom for himself and as you can see, the roses loved all the lovely shades of reds, greens and golds in their clothing unlike Thornton. They were loved by all their citizens, at least that is what they had once believed but they realized this wasn't true when so many showed support for the prince to take over and lock them away for what he felt was their crime.
