The Seventh Veil was the last veil in the legendary dance of Salome before King Herod, in which, we can only surmise, it was still left hanging in place after the other veils all fell to the floor, stirring great anticipation.Β And with this wonderful render, Deane, focused as it is on just that same veil, we can finally share a bit in just how much ache that passage of anticipation must have stirred....Β Β ....as usual, your wry choice of title is spot on.
I've now seen this Kali tunic outfit on at least a half dozen renders or more, and so far, yours is by far the best.Β Β I don't think you needed quite so much of your typical background in this case, as even less background focus might have heightened our eyes upon that seventh veil tease even more.Β Β ...or perhaps she might have been positioned more simply in front of a single column....
Her grip on the staff, by the way, is a woman's grip, unaccustomed to chucking spears or wielding swords, just as it should be.Β It's a soft grip, more like what the courtesan Salome's surely was, and all the more inviting because of it.Β Nicely done.
The shiny aspect to the gold in the headdress is the biggest fault with this outfit, and so far no renders I've seen really managed enough distress to make that gold look like anything more than a Mardi-Gras costume piece.Β Your version no worse but no better than the rest.Β It seems to need a bit of patina, like what you'd expect to find in a hand-made treasure captured from some Aztec temple raid.Β Don't ya think?Β ...but I have a feeling that if you looked just a bit further, there'd be a shader hiding somewhere in the RGUS palette inventory just perfect for it !!Β

Really pretty, but really impractical, outfit and the cute elf ears create an awkward tangent with the headdress. Also, her fist on the staff looks bizarre. I know it's a matter of perspective, creating that pose with my own hand forces it to look like the pinky is longer than the index finger, but the curve of her fingers is all wrong. The middle bone, between the fingernail and the concentric wrinkles, is either too long or not bent enough.Β Sorry, that bothered me the moment I noticed. I love the color palette though! The background and composition are lovely too. Plus shiny shiny gold.
