Got around to taking photos of the dragon all painted up, but am less than pleased with how the set I took last night turned out so I'm probably going to re-shoot with a different background tomorrow. For now, here's a teaser shot. I managed to paint this in an adrenaline-fueled and extremely stressful all-night session right before I turned him in for inspection by the jury for the Laguna Beach Festival of the Arts.Sculpey firm and apoxie clay over a wire and foil armature. Painted with acrylics. More information about this piece is available in my gallery and in my scraps folder.

I didn't know I had the patience to finish this when I started, but even though I felt like giving up a few times, I'm glad I stuck with it. This one was definitely a learning experience.

He's so cute! He has so much personality with those bright eyes! At first when I saw the thumbnail I thought "What a detailed work of digital art!" Then I saw it was a sculpture and I was floored! What a fantastic job you've done! Congrats on the DD--you've definitely earned it!
