for 6 or 7 month everybody in my school call someone who looks like an emo,that the person is an emo, say: wear some diffrent clothis, have black hair, have black eyes or something other diffrentthat's so stupid
before that time nobody knew the word "emo"
_not everyone who lokks like an emo IS an emo!!_

Did you know that when the word "emo" appeared on the internet, it was originally short for "emotional"?
It was used for people with a lot a self pity, who think all the world resolves around them.

I agree with what you're saying completely, and I think it also applies with scene as well. I am ashamed to say that I myself have called someone an emo kid just because they kinda looked like one, when in fact they labeled themself as "punk". But I learned my lesson.
